I'll never forget it.. About eleven years ago I was at show to see a completely different band and my friends and I were putzing around by the tour buses because nobody was stopping us and we were bored. This guy walked by and I ended up chatting with him for like fifteen minutes and he was super nice and cute and I probably blushed a lot. Then, once the friends and I got in the venue, I realized the cool guy Dallas was the frontman of the first band. Ha. Good times.

I remember on the first night that I heard "Taking My Life Away" back in December of '03, I was thirteen and sad over something completely unimportant. As I was sitting in my room, watching the snow falling outside my window and crying my eyes out, this song came on the radio, and I began thinking of my family and all of the good things in my life. That immediately made me feel comforted, and this has since been one of my favorite songs. Thanks, Default! :)

Can someone please tell me when this song hit the charts? I live in Boston and I swear this never made it to radio in this area... I randomly heard it, at all places, some total dive strip club in the middle of nowhere. I knew the band sounded so familiar but couldn't put my finger on it.
