ha i out do everyone im 13 and love this kind music all my friends think im weird and i say coming from the person who listens 2 the meaningless bull we call "music" today :)
@cutebuzzybee232 agreed. Fourteen in a few days, but i listen to the stones, these guys, to led zeppelin and some aerosmith or acdc. Music was dying in the 80s and died in the 90s. All my friends have are the same. I tell them they have an "ear infection", they tell me i live in the dark ages, i tell them to piss off and shut the drawbridge on the way out. Long live rock and roll!
I am 59 yrs old and I played this back with my band back in the 70's and it sounds as good to me as it did 40 yrs ago.....music like this may have been played yrs ago but I am glad the the younger generations still know what good music is....Enjoy it for the next 40 yrs as I have enjoyed it in the past 40 .......ROCK ON
@AcDec50 And the Firm... a short-lived 80s outfit that he was in with Jimmy Page. Although not commercially successful (and from the 80s), they still warrant checking out, especially the song "Radioactive."
No one gives a shit that you're young and listen to music older than you. It doesn't make you cool, so shut the fuck up about your age and just listen to the music.
LOLOLOLOL U GAIZ THIS IS REEL MOOZIC NOT LIKE THAT RAP AND HIPHOP THAT 95% OF TEENS LISEN TO THEES DAYZ THUMBS UP IF YOUR ONE OF THE KEWL 5% THAT STILL KNOW TEH TROO MEENING OF MOOZIC LOL HERP DERP
i am currently 3 years old and remember hearing this music all my life because of my parents. after a life of listening to this, modern music doesnt quite do it for me. i'm not sure why others like it, either, all that auto tuned crap..
I apologize on behalf of my generation. Last century, no one had a clue that music would go down the toilet. I listen to rock and metal in hope that someday, screamo will turn back into metal again, pop will turn into hard rock again, and all the whiny children of today that call themselves artists will stop kidding themselves and everyone else. I am ashamed to call myself part of this generation. We have failed you
@ElTyler hellz yeah im 16 so join the club i listen to everything 70s 80 n i guess some 90s like red hot chilil peppers, this music makes me feel proud
@ElTyler ..the bass player was only 16yo on FREE.. : ) ..and he was cool, too!.. i think that was their strength too: they all could play their instruments; drums, bas, guitar and the vocals..and so peeplz, perhaps especially young peeplz sense the raw energy and passion blended with talent which made this song, imo, an important landmark 'hit' in the history of Pop Rock culture....nntr.
I grew up listening to this music and it will always be my favorite. This was the very best song to dance to and i have rocked it too many times to count. What a pleasure to have been able to experience this music then and now.
Gonna add this to my band's setlist this week. I play bass and we also do his (Paul Rodgers) Bad Company's " Can't Get Enough" which is another bass paying gem. I remember when it was new, I was 5. Paul Rodgers is a vocal god!
my dad has had me listening to these kind of songs all my life, my sharona, freebird, all the classics and i absolutely love them now. im 15, and granted i do like modern music too, but this... this is music.
@owenladd my father did too i know all the old rock bands and i like them more than the new ones and i wish i could live in the years that our parents used to live they didn't have the maddness that we have now the teenagers at these years were more cute and smart than these that we do now we are a silly generation with garbish music without a meaning
This is the greatest song ever written, pure and simple. The guitar, the bass, it all clicks right here. At the time they wrote this, all the members of Free were teenagers, and they wrote better music (check out the rest of their discography) than many of their contemporaries - and of course much better music than we have today.
The 70's was a great time to grow up in. I only barely remember the Beatles movement, but I do remember Free and Bad Company. Andy Fraser is one of the best Bassists i"ve ever heard play.
Google "bad gig Durham Free" and you'll read why this song sucks! It was concocted to try to get audiences to clap longer at the end of their boring shows. It doesn't resonate with the anguished idealism or fornicatory release of the 60s or 70s - it's just commercial drivel, jerking audiences off musically for applause manipulation, which is why the disposable lyrics are so terrible. Pathetic! They were just a bunch of hacks trying to sound like an American band and make a buck.
Love this song! Had my earphones on, the song started and scared the shit outta me. Oh yeah, the verison I'm going to add to my favorites! Thanks for posting a video with such great sound, and one of the BEST songs ever! :)
