you know I think I'd like to do this, once my hair's a little longer... and then I could do the sectioning, but I need to get my friends to understand...
In my opinion I like the smaller, thinner dreads over the big clunky ones... If I'll do this, I'd like some like yours.
I don't have a good reason to get dreads, that's why i don't have them, i do love the way they look but they aren't for me permanently. i do my own synthetic dreads so i can get a partial look that isn't permanent. but i honestly love watching these videos, they have a lot of information and make me have a great laugh
Braiding your hair before you dread is totally the way to go. I had fine, long, STRAAAIGHT hair and had mine professionally braided for less than $60 the week before I dreaded it. I washed my hair in the braids with the dread head shampoo everyday for a week to remove any conditioner, and dried it well before we starting dreading. Also it keeps your free hair together while you're dreading so if it takes more than a day, you don't look as odd since all your hair is either braided or dreaded.
Second, I've been considering dreadlocks for a grand total of around two weeks.
I'm still unsure- but you're videos are totally informative but not boring. I had no idea there would be a guy on youtube with a channel completely devoted to dreads.
you gottta do something about liek dandruff prevention orr ridding of...my hairs been growing a little over a year now and im too lazy to brush so natruallly my hairs knotting up and i dont even plan on cutting it but i kinda have a dandruff problem i dont realyl like to use dandruff shampoos i use regular shampoo everytime i shower which can be everyday for 3 days in a row to no shower or wash for a weeek, i need some advice. anddd do you tihnk wearing hats, now i were a beanie will effeft it?
Regular washing is key....wash every 2 days, don't skip and it will help a lot. Most people find that the dread soap really helps control their dandruff just by getting the scalp and dreads nice and clean, but you still gotta wash regularly or the dandruff will come back..
ive already had mine for a year and a half now but i still found this video interesting :) loose hairs is my problem, but your video on that really helped. so thanks man!
When it grows you can have a salon help or you can throw a dread party...it's your call. Some salons do great work, others with disapoint so talk to them before hand and make sure they do it the way you're expecting. BTW "twisting" doesn't work well unless you can grow a pretty tight fro so if that's their plan an you've never sported a fro I'd keep lookin' for someone who knows how to backcomb :)
They could, especially if the bead is nice and tight and you have it at the tips.... Sometimes people I'll put the beads over a band....it holds the bead if the bead is a little large. It works well at the tips or on the body of the dread....
There's three of us..the other two, Sloan and Morgan, have made some guest appearances (in the clip where were working on Knotty Sloan's dreads) but you'll see more of them in future vlogs....Part 3 actually... :)
I swapped out the original Part C for this new Part C, the audio is better and I got the poster frame in the right place so it matches the other Vlogs. Unfortunately I did loose everybody's comments so feel free to post them again.
Haha, members only..

I loved the dread deco! Can the beads that you show substitute for rubberbands?
