can i use a firewire to usb if i dont have a firewire port on my laptop. I have the port on my fios box 1394 port.

@atopalian As long as windows can see that the adapter as a firewire port it should work ok. Now I can't say for sure that high definition content would work all that well, as usb doesn't have as much bandwidth as firewire, but SD should work fine.
