@santaclaus152, probably a tad closer time wise since orleans is on the highway. There's no freeway or good arterial roads to Barrhaven. I think the area is nicer thought, esp. with the cedar hill golf course area and the new stonebridge golf course area. Really nice places.

Barrhaven's for raising kids. People get hitched, pop out a few shriekers, and move to the 'burbs so that they can throw their kids outside when their shit gets out of hand. Suburbs, however, have always been a symbol of social conformity and that gets on the nerves of people between the ages of 15-25. Don't like it? Move to Vanier, go to zaphods and reminisce about when you could walk home without being threatened at knife point.

One main road for ALL of the Barrhaven communities... a laughable 1-1.5 hour bus ride...

It took me exactly 10 mins more to drive my bicycle to work from Barhaven to Slater & Bank ..... there is no excuse for that.

Definitely more then one way to get out of Barrhaven now and I don't know what bus you were on (probably the 95) but I ride express with all the rest of the business class working folks downtown, one bus....45 minutes max. Of course, I live in Barrhaven I'm not posting for my health! Fact of the matter is, if you live out in the subs your priority isn't to go get wasted downtown. Zaphods.......Brutal!

Riding the expresses are great. Faster in the morning,but not so fast in the evenings,it took me closer to an hour.

I was referring to driving. Everyone living there drives down ONE street.. Woodroffe. And it clogs everything up.

Barrhaven is nice if you have a solid 9-5 and you don't venture out too often.

I did a lot in Gloucester and played hockey quite a bit all over the city... so it was more driving than i'd like(3-5 nights a week).
