Would I be able to go in trying to study for a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree? Or are the Art degrees and classes really limited there, catering mostly to other subjects?
I just graduated and this college does sound exciting. I wonder how immersive the Japanese language program is? Also I wonder how good the TESOL graduate program is? This sounds like both a scary but also very wonderful experience. :)
my friend is applying to this college, at first i thought it's a cool idea that she wants to venture out, and altho i also love japan, i've never really thought about actually going there for higher education
but this video makes me rethink that!
when will other colleges will ever realize that Japan is a great place to build a campus? i know tons of people who would love to study in japan, but they don't know the language! this type of eduation that TUJ offer is a great idea!!
wooh! I am definitely going to graduate in Japan yo'! XD Though this college doesn't have the technology, robotics etc..roarr!! but yeah!! I am 13 and graduating high school in two years from now :P I is smart!xD
I'm a junior in high school and live in Philadelphia. This looks really exciting although I'm not sure if it would be better to study at a more competitive university in America or just go straight to Japan. It seems like going here will help you land a Japanese job easier (other than teaching english) so that's good! I'm interested in international business especially when it comes to the entertainment industry.
i went there in the summer for 2 months ;) awesome people there! got cool videos of japan such a great experience that im doing an internship there in august for a year! thats a little booyah!
Definitely going to apply at TUJ and TU! We'll see what happens!
I really want to Major in Business Management and Asian Studies, with a minor in Japanese so I'd be able to understand where I'm going easier.
I'd love to work for a major corporation, hopefully international, and I want to get way from America for some time. Everyone loves their homeland, but it can be so overbearing.
I just want to say Im really impressed. I found this by chance, not realizing that Temple University had other campuses that American students could study at for the full 4 years. But when I found this, I applied right away. I always wanted to go to a campus in Japan, but the language barrier would be a problem for me. Here, I can learn in both English and Japanese. I really cant wait to finish applying and see if I make it in :). Thanks for posting the video!
@jeffsjuststoked 1=Not at all. You don't have to know the language, but they offer classes for you to learn it. You'll want to take those classes.
2= You should be able to. Most colleges are affiliated with TUJ and have connected programs, considering TUJ is one of the most recognized international schools in Japan. It'd be wise to be in cahoots with them.
I'm a sophomore in high school but I'm DEFINITELY going there for my International Business Degree, going to be awesome! and i am so getting in because my high school allows Japanese as a language and i'm taking it all 4 years
Haha, I know it's still so early [I'm just going into my sophmore year in High School] but I reeeeally wanna go there for International Business.
But my parents probably wouldn't want me to go so far away from home to study. But I think it'd be so cool to study business in a country where business is such a huge part in society.
hey my parents felt the same way about me, im a senior in highschool. The international business at Temple is ranked 7th in the United States and is really good. And the cool thing about TUJ is that you come home for month long breaks 2-3 times in the year so your parents will see you a lot. For example, you leave august 30th and come come Dec8th. You don't leave again untill Jan. 11th.
I currently attend Temple. So here is my experience so far. (this will take two posts)
I transferred in from community college with a 3.1 GPA..So as far as difficulty to get into? Not that hard. I have since increased my GPA to a 3.75, however I would not say that Temple is easy.
Most classes that I have taken are graded on a curve, so passing is not to hard, however to get an A is still difficult.
So as long as you apply yourself and don't spend all of your nights drinking in Shinjuku..
I spent a semester at TUJ in the summer of 2008 and it was great! If you need any tips or advice about the program feel free to send me a message and ask :)
i am going to send you a message because i am very interested in this school. if you can, can you send me a message on what it was like ( the campus, people, the education). I may go there after i get my bachelors in International Studies
Acceptance rate is around 60%, same as the normal temple university in philly. go to collegeboard and look at the info for the normal temple to see what you need to get in
i want 2 go but....i really wanna major in veterinary medicine and they have nothing there that really has anything to do with science (-_-) i "guess" i can always change my minors and majors... *sigh*
but then again most graduate schools want you to major in something that isn't part of your career anyway. I mean take the core classes, but you can major in anything. You should look up more info for that though. It's like that for law and med schools.
I really want to go here. I even requested a brochure!

1) I know this is an English-speaking school but is knowing the language crucial to getting around the city?
2) Would I be able to take my core class here and then just transfer to another American school other than Temple in PA?
