The Japanese are the only reason I'll get this game. The other two just don't have the personality they used to, and the fresh one on the block seems to have what they lack. And the tension makes more sense in this storyline than the others. I especially like how they have great technology, but their leader lives in what looks like a Samurai castle.

The Shogun Executioner most be the most brutal, lethal and mass-destructive weapon in the Empire's arsenal; its only weakness is aircraft, and heck, in later versions, maybe a few laser eye cannons can deal with that.

As for the Emperor's line, "technology alone will not conquer our enemies", I can agree; I think EotRS is the only faction in RA3 with a sense of honour and ethics, even in battle.

The intro basically shows just why I prefer the EotRS: Their technology is formidable, they have a real purpose, their soldiers are diciplined, and they do not exactly seem like the types to fire on civilians.

However, on the darker side, their beliefs might be quite old, and their emperor's belief in how to crush an opponent's spirit may be old-fashioned; but all in all, I can actually see the Empire of the Rising Sun as competent world leaders.

So technichally because there was no Atomic bomb, Japan somehow continued it's reign in the Pacific and Asia.. In doing so they managed to wipe out China, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Mongolia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Burma, Philippines and pretty much every other Country in Asia is gone and it's resources went entirely into Japan, making them this war machine.

just saying japan's industry and economy suffered more out of the use of conventional weapons like incendiary bombs than atomic bombs. sure it killed a lot of people and spread disastrous radiation crippling both cities, making the emperor surrender because of fear of more nukes (when the us had only 2 built at the time lol). but, most buildings were made out of wood and factories burned down with incendiary bombs slowly but surely. japan was about to surrender anyways.

No, they weren't or the US wouldn't have spent a bunch of money of the bombs. The emperor and his people were stubborn and refused to give up, even after all their terriroties had been taken, their allies defeated, and most of their navy wiped out. The allies alternative beside this was to storm Japan, which would've ultimuly been a decisive victory, but it'd take a few more years and many people dying. Think Iwo Jima times 10000000
