Pontiac will eventually comeback, probably before 2020 or after. I don't believe Pontiac is dead forever. If GM pays back the money they owe the Gov, then i can guarantee it will comeback. The only decent newer cars they came out with was the G6 and G8, the G3 and G5 was just something quick they pulled out they're ass to see if anyone would buy them.
The cars I thought were the Greatest was the G8, 2000 - 03 Grand Prix and Am, and the old Firebirds. I refuse to buy anything made by Chevy that came from Pontiac. Thats just an embarrassment to GM and Pontiacs Owners. I own a 2000 and a 2002 Grand Prix and I refuse to let them die. Even though one has had a motor changed 3 times (Because I drive it everywhere; total of 374k mi on it family trips and so on) If they do comeback they need to bring the older models back. Not the new shit like G5

GM should take the G8 and call them the new Impala. The Impala is such a boring car anyway why not make them into the G8? Pontiac in my opinion had the best looking cars in GM other then the Vette and new Camaro. Pontiac is dead i never thought that would happen in my lifetime, truly sad.
Plus, GM should just drop GMC. I mean, GMC's are basically rebadged chevy trucks and SUV's, so really GMC has no point in even being around. No one's buying them anyway. The chevy dealership near my house is fully loaded with new, unsold GMC's.

The thinking is that GMC can make a profit for exactly that reason. They are easily rebadged vehicles that can sell for more than a comparable Chevrolet. But that only works when people are buying trucks.
i feel bad for the pontiac dealerships because the cars that they have sitting out on the lot aren't worth jack shit now. If everybody knows that pontiac is going out of business by the end of 2010, they are going to look for another company. So really, pontiac is already done, no red tag event or employee pricing, or even a free year of onstar can help them now.

GM did not try hard enough with the Pontiac brand. Between eliminating long-established names like Grand Am and Bonneville, product plans that bounced around and showed no rationale (a freaking Pontiac Aveo??), and a long-term dillution of the brand starting with Roger Smith, GM has been killing Pontiac for decades.
I am a long time GM supporter, but I am sorely disappointed by this decision.
