I don't understand. Danny Elfman is an amazing composer, and the entire score of this movie was brilliant.

But for some reason, all the people they got to cover these songsdon't actually have any musical talent. The only exception being Amy Lee's cover of Sally's Song. It's a shame...

I'm not exactly sure what to think about this version. . .I first time I heard it, my ears shriveled up and it felt like they were going to bleed. I listened to another take for another chance and it isn't bad. Not entirely. It has this weirdness, this. . .eccentricity that kind of works for this kind of song. Of course, it's nowhere near as good as the original but overall, it's not terrible.

The whiney vocals create contribute a freaky passiveness, while some parts that are just completely...straightforward, and are much too distinct. The flowing of the whine adds what we want. What I thought was a nice touch was the keeping of Jack's rolling r when he said "France". What was missing is Danny Elfman's charm and it's very noticeable that it's hiding. Danny Elfman is unable to manifest his character into it, or should I say that AMR can't. It's nice though, very eerie.
