G8 criticized for lavish meal during food crisis

There is no food shortage. Just food hoarding and land theft by a few selfish individuals. The earth is able to sustain its almost 7 billion people. We do not need 18 course meals to maintain good health. As a gardener I always marvel how nature can take a tiny seed and grow it into a plant that can feed my whole family and still have some left over to share with friends and neighbors. I do not need to sell it or hoard it, just share freely.

What were they supposed to do, serve a few grains of rice and some scattered fish heads?

We can't really expect rich people to eat poor mans food can we?

All that being said, most of the foods being served sounded nasty as hell to me. Who wants to eat Sea Urchins? yuck.
