The Dark Beam really is pointless to use during the fight. It's slow as Hell so the Emperor Ing has an easy time dodging the shots. No wonder people regard this as one of the hardest bosses in the game.
Annihilator Beam would have been SO much more effective instead of the Dark Beam. I wish you had at least attempted it :/
I mean what did you have to lose? A few points of Light ammo? But yeah the DB is total crap against him. Not that you have much of a choice in weaponry for the fight.
This guy and Dark Samus in hyper mode are hell! 50 tries.

It seems you can also kill his 3rd form with the screw attack. I'm not sure, but if you know if it's possible, can you tell me?

What I use was the third beam you get it will work for both light and dark.

When you say "mutates more as it gets hurt" do you mean that the core gets brighter? or that the actual body changes?

I was already using a lot of light ammo during the fight, I didn't want to run out and be totally screwed over.
