Medtner Knight Errant Op.58 No.2 for 2 Pianos - Demidenko, Alexeev (1/2)

I was listening to the CD yesterday. Whoever does not like Medtner does not like great music for piano. Sure, his orchestral pieces take a little effort for one to get acclimatized to his soundscape, but his music for solo piano & two pianos is immediately catchy and accessible

Wtf was Hamelin talking about Medtner not being Melodic. This tune and many others from him are about as catchy as they get, Rachmaninoff would have been proud of himself to have composed this

Medtner is one of the greatest of composers! AND I think is one of the best works written for 2-piano's. I can't see this piece being played any better than these two. Absolutely fantastic!

Hm.. I think this is from 1993..? - I saw on the web there's a Medtner society, telling about all recordings ..yet made. Very vivid and playful piece, I guess those knights are in a hurry :p
