  • Huge Respect to sir Marc Weigert. His brilliance in VFX will always be remembered. =)

  • goog info thanks for sharing

  • great stuff. Shame that the interview looks horrible. How on earth did you get the sides wrong I will never know.

  • 9:03 - Green or Blue - Marc, you're my hero. So many do not listen to me. Blonde hair on green is all I ever get! Please guys, if you're shooting people on a stage, use Blue! Besides, it matches so much with sky and water which is pretty much what we are putting back anyway!!

If you are going to shoot blonde hair against green make sure you are lighting the hair from behind with a nice warm light (you should be doing that anyway!).

  • interesting, but, so why did people invent greenscreen?

  • @erikalst Greenscreen was created for video (and film) as it has a higher luminance level of light being in the middle of the visible spectrum. Using chroma-green more closely matches that of the green pickups inside 3chip RGB cameras (when lit correctly). Green also works better when filming in daylight conditions as most of the ambient light is blue and therefore makes spill correction that much easier (unless situated near grass or trees of course - Which is what I normally have to work with)

  • Fun the hear more about the digital pipeline.

Would be nice to go a bit deeper though. Showing some pre-viz materials, not just offical 2012 footage.

    A note:

Steve Roberts is filmed on the wrong side on the screen. he should be on the left side. Also his audio is a bit noisy.
