@juarnna My BDA still has the 2000E box with standard ratios, and the 3.77 diff and 235/45x13 kumhos, which gives 4000rpm in 4th at 63mph (100kph) and 5000RPM at about 79mph (126kph) so it is quite hard on motorway with most cars doing 80mph. it is about 16mph/1000rpm in top. I would love to put a 5 speed in but do not want to cut the original floor and tunnel as it is an original avo shell. If I put 225/55x13 dunlops on I get 17.5mph/1000rpm but find with the L1 and BD3 cams too tall in 1st !
@mainman2999 he has a baby atlas axel standerd but thicker half shafts an 2 teeth on crown wheel an pinion engaged at one time so very strong but like gold to find it sits on 205 / 60 tyres all round as for all the other tech stuff he will pass on to you he spent just over 35 k doing that car and the shell had only coverd 2000 miles when he found it took him 24 yrs to complete dedication eh ,ive just peeked at yours nice car m8 email details on way performance on his 0 to 60 5 sec top 140 to 150
@juarnna what diff do you run, and what size tyres? do you have a 'direct' 5th gear or overdrive top gear? I think the perfect combination for me would be a 4.1 diff and a 5 speed box giving a top gear of 18mph/1000 for motorway and still having 4 lower gears for good acceleration etc. I have 1700cc iron block, 11.4:1 comp, L1 in, BD3 ex, big valve head , carillo rods, cossy pistons, and steel crank and caps, 45dcoe with 40mm chokes, my video is on here, have you seen?
@mainman2999 tis my bros car he said to send you his email you dont need to alter your tunnel get t9 box use your alloy bellhousin of 2000e reverse the threads helicoil then you have quick release box oh make the serfices on box flat[ grind em ]he had a rocket gear kit by quaife put in and ratios matched to power, engine was kicking out 240 bhp but no good for road, use [ detuned carbs slightly ] dyno now 210 bhp between 4250 revs an 8500 then drops off so no need to over rev to 9500rpm
