  • Your paintings are beautiful! I've never tried oils! It looks like fun...I only use acrylics, so quick and easy. I finish a painting within an hour.

How long does it take for oils to dry?

  • I've never tried oils. I just do acrylic, because of the drying time. But after watching your video - I am so curious on how different my paintings will look like. I love your technique, though!

  • Hi

    I like the painting.

But i dont have the patience for oil.

When i start a painting i cant stop before its finished. Thanks for sharing

  • This is Great... my PUG ("Ryu") also thinks so, he gave the monitor a kiss!! He's in my first MAKE ART video, under the easle, shown at the end. FIVE STARS!

  • great painting, 5* A.D. :))

  • I love your style!

  • I love it - such a great job! the colors just are so vibrant in this! I never would of thought it was an oil, until you said something. Like you said, with the drying time. Have you ever tried that paint that drys like an oil almost, but to work it is like an acrylic? I love that stuff, can hardly find it sometimes.

  • dwljk, I worry about newer man made products longivity. I want my work to be around long after I am gone.. long after.. so I try to keep with traditional tech and matterials.

  • Love watching your process! I like how all the underlying maroon and deep bluish-gray colors really unite the end product :)

  • uuuuu, forgot to put that Tuesdays are the 7:00pm show in studio... Darn it I messed up again.. LOL

  • Is this video, stopping on people? it keeps freezing on me?

  • nice painting..thanks for sending!

  • Love this piece....the style is wonderful.

  • Must say that this i my favourite piece of yours! The colours corralate perfectly and i like the way you only paint a part of its face. Makes it far more interesting! Wished i had this :)

  • I enjoyed your pug painting. Can you do a bischon sometime in the future?

  • Hey Ettina,

I love your pug painting. Your color choices are perfect! Great work! Thanks for sharing your video with me.

Looking forward to your instructional DVD soon. I want to learn more about oils and the mediums you use to speed your drying time.

    Take Care!

  • it came out great! sooooo cute!! I love pugs!!!

    i have a question.

why do you wait for it to dry then continue? why not do it all in one sitting?

that's how i do it, in one sitting,

not that there is a right or wrong way to paint, but, am i doing it wrong?

  • Hi Ozk3r I have done both methodes, but I find it's easer to get a three dementional and better effect with little over blending with layering (glazing). I just love the effects I get using layers that just don't come out the same with wet on wet. If you saw my paintings up close, you can actually experience alot of the layering, where with one layer usually thick, you don't get that feel and/or effect.
