When use the guided missiles i never get vehicle disbl, kill, himarkers, or destroys so far i hate bcuz of it. Im just gonna back to heatseekers if keeps doing nothin. Any1 know y it does that? I know some of my targets are occupied vehicles! Theyve been painted!

Good stuff here but I disagree with the decision making process for firing guided missles. You realize you can just spot a vehicle that your guided missiles are targeting to see if it's occupied right? If it spots, there is someone in it. Waiting to fire your missile based on the vehicle's actions is doing nothing but giving some other jet a chance to shoot you down while you're looking at the ground.

When you go from moving forward to hovering you should activate the afterburner. It will hinder you from hitting the ground.

A few of us having probs ranking up the jets Red. There is only so many tutorials I can watch, I think time and a lucky game where there isnt these top gun boys flying is the only way I'm going to rank up my jets.

@gingie78 Took me ages as well dude. Just keep going...once you get your first unlock ie. IR Flares, it helps a lot. Top tips from my point of view. Learn to use the brakes. Makes turning so much better. Fly behind mountains..when not attacking..stay out of sight. Patience is the key. Sometimes...there just a way better pilot out there. But keep going.

@GEORGEESAZ i dont bother with the f-35. i learned how to dog fight using a properly programmed jet. everytime you wanna break in the f-35 and you are 100 m or less about ground it thinks you want to land vertically and you stall and get shot up :(

@GEORGEESAZ if you're able to land a jet on the ground, then think of it like landing in the air. you'll want to decelerate, tip your nose up just a bit, and keep a close eye on your angles while holding the brake, as this will maintain your vertical thrust (which will be very weak.) the nose should point up slightly. flies like the heli, but cannot move around as well and will drop quickly if you're not gentle on the stick. ideal for taking out pesky choppers, but not anti-ground.

Sometimes the guided missiles miss moving targets - this will be fixed in the next patch. At 3:15 the guided missile misses the tank.

All over the internet people are showing more frustration with Team unbalancing in BF3, and is due to ability of switching teams, so what happens is, let's say a level brigadier l0 doesn't like playing with new people he will switch teams and join the more experience player with more unlock, completely unbalancing the gameplay, BC2 was better in balancing and Hardcore.

The good thing about guided missiles is that if someone locks on to any air target with SOFLAM your guided missile will shoot them down. Also I have killed mortal units and snipers because it also locks on small devices, like radio b. I wanted to comment on the balance issues present right now. I'm a fan of the BF series, but right now, if you join a lobby solo, you will always find that one side is much more powerful than the other, due to the "team switching" ability. Can you comment on it?

Guided missiles don't lock on if vehicles are empty. Sometimes they miss tho if say jeeps are driving fast or if the missile hits something before reaching target. I got some jet gameplay vids using guided missiles, check out if anyone's interested.

I love watching these vids. It inspired me to use the jets/helis more but theres almost no point in flying the jets since its so hard to unlock the ir flares and missiles. Plus in almost every match theres always some pro jet pilot on the other team taking me down in a few seconds while I'm just learning how to steer the thing.

@SVRUltimate trust me just keep trying. i used to not even get of the runway, and now im taking on 2 jets and a heli at the same time! heres a tip: when turning use your break. (one of the most helpful jet tips IMO) once you get the air radar, everything gets better.

Wow! I am gonna try the guided missile w/beam scanning since it makes sense to deal w/any air targets w/the cannon (main gun) as it is more powerful than the heat seaker. It'll open up more options to deal w/ground armor & force me to use the cannons for air targets (helis/jets). It seems the heat seekers work poorly when enemy pilots know how to use the flares or ECM jammer. Thanks for posting!

the guided missiles can get one shots on tanks. You have to get behind the tank, thats where the armor is weakest and they take more damage, at least in helis, figured it worked the same in the jets.

The only thing i dont like about the F-35 is that you have to aim it differant than the othe jets. you have to use the small dot not the cross hairs. But the F-35 with guided missile vs. ground armor = Face RAPE.

Helps a bit with the F35 that on PC you can separate the hover function from brake with settings tool so you can still pull pretty sharp turns without having to hover all over the place.

And using the guided missile against choppers that are marked with SOFLAM is always fun. Even I still don't like them guided missiles in general.

The tv missle before the update was really easy to control to your target and I would be able to fly them around the map into targets,but the problem was the bouced off the target all the time doing no damage,now it bouces off less and you be able to get kills easier but the made it a lot harder to control and its almost impossible to control at far ranges around the mapcuz for some reason there's like a delay or lag wen directing the missle and it messes up your aiming you'll see wen you get it

@TheEntertainer23 Hold the brake button until the landing gear goes down. Then the brake become the throttle for the trust. Its scary at first because you think you have now power. So try holding the brake when you take off an insted of the normaal throttle and you will get used to it.

@SuperSonic285 With that set up you will be able to run Battlefield 3 although I would say you'd be at the low end of the graphics scale. Also your RAM only just gets through (Minimum is 2GB) so performance might be buggy for you. I'm guessing you have an Intel i5 Quad Core Processor which passes the minimum requirements, so that's all good :)

You might want to try a site called "Can You Run It" it'll show you everything you need to know.
