  • this video is longer than 95 seconds because at some big explosions you see the game slowing down and thus the in game timer too, but the screen recorder stayed recording at the same time most noticably @ 1:40

  • running this game on nulldc with a dualshock 3 and it is still so hard (this last level). i can never move fast enough through the laser gates, i always get snagged by one and its downhill from there.

  • I loved the controls in this game =) WIsh I still had it =)

    That Sturmwind game looks amazing

  • Idfk what's going in but I see robots and explosions so... SICK!

  • my eyes turned rainbow O_O

  • this definitely looks better than the "hd" version, which just looks cheap

  • best game of all time

  • Great playing i only can handle the slow and save way. You can't do your run twice in a row i think?

  • Seeing comments that compare our dear, old, classic n64 games to today's crysis and similar graphics-on-crack games... makes me cry...

  • :S this game belongs on a snes or something not a sega dreamcast :S just the whole arcadey feel puts me off :S need games with playability and story... But some action... not shenmue.. .too much storyline there and quite a boring game :S

  • @mikeyb2k9

    You, sir, are and idiot.

But seriously, you are just trolling, right?

  • @sa7o I don't troll the internet I speak opinion and belief. Seriously look at this game, does it look anywhere near anything the dreamcast can handle? For examples look at games like Phantasy Star Online, Headhunter, Shenmue, Alone in the Dark... The graphics on those games are awesome.. No offense but if I want mindless fun I can get a snes emulator free.... the dreamcast is a gaming console... just saying its games like this that makes it look "Old"...

So get back to searching the bridges...

  • @mikeyb2k9 those games make the dreamcast a glorious collectors item. I Love this game. And i have over 300 complete Sega Games and this one is under first 15. How far are you in collecting games? Are you a doctor in console gaming?

  • @mikeyb2k9 errrmm no. The snes doesn't have enough muscle to move all those sprites and effects.

I love how people see a 2D game and automatically dismish it as being "an 8-bit nes game" or "boring". Poor souls

  • @ignisonthemove Nonsense, the SNES could totally run BlazBlue Continuum Shift!

  • @ignisonthemove I think my favorite part is that this is a game with tiny, simple sprites that drags the Dreamcast to its knees. It's amazing.

  • This use to be my game .... until I let someone hold it and never got it back. I wish I had this game again I am such a shooter fan someone help a brother out EASY!!

  • Uh...holy crap?? I have no idea what happened but it was still awesome!

  • Been playing this for DS, hardest game evar.

  • Not really. Bangai-O Spirits is easy compared to this. The final boss here is rage-inducing if you don't know how to properly fight him.

  • i dont know if i'll ever beat level 44

  • Ah.............memories.

  • So ridiculous it's fantastic :D

  • great job mrmonkeyman!!! - Soma Cruz

  • Bee in your bonnet

  • I think bangai-o should come to the Virtual Console, I would buy it, I loved Sin and Punishment, I just love Treasure.

  • one of the very few games that put me back in the video game scenario... :)

  • this looks waaaaay better than ds

  • The Dreamcast version is so amazing O.O

    Bangai-o for Wii now!!!

  • But the Wii has Sin and Punishment 1 and 2, plus Gunstar Heroes.

  • The 2d game has so many exsplosion it LAGS, like, almost freezes lags

  • Not really. There is an intentional pause after a big EX attack, but otherwise it moves fairly smoothly.

The sequel on the other hand, now THAT lags.

The slowdown doesn't hurt either game.

  • it's cool how the chars are small. leaves more room for 'splosions

  • I'm going by the game timer.

And I've always though the game was easy, but there seems to be a lot of people who can't beat this final level, or at least have a lot of trouble with it..

  • @mrmonkeymans I never beat it

  • you want to say 2 minutes and 14 ...

  • No, I'm pretty sure I want to say 95 seconds.

You can watch my Alien Soldier run and tell me I want to say it's over 20 minutes long too, despite the fact the in game timer tells me it's 11:37.

  • @mrmonkeymans in this video the game timer takes like ten normal seconds to get from 721 to 719...

  • @mrmonkeymans in this video the game timer takes like ten normal seconds to get from 721 to 719...

  • Nice vid!!!

  • Fuckin' right, that was some efficient Bangai-O my friend.

  • This looks like a hybrid of Mischief Makers and Ikaruga.

  • Its made by the smae people

  • Not quite. Mischief Makers was a platformer which is an entirely different genre and Ikaruga is a slow paced, challenging shooter. Bangai-O only has the challenging shooter part, and there are a lot of puzzle elements too.

    Anyway, Gai is awesome.

  • I know that, but I meant it has a certain feel to it. The way the character controls looks like Mischief Makers and the bullet action looks like Ikaruga. Also, I think the music sounds a lot like Mischief Makers. Pardon me for commenting my opinion on a game.

  • O.o

  • I have no idea what happened during those 95 seconds.. O__o..

  • Everything got exploded.

  • What happens in the final ending cut scene?

  • There is a happy ending.

  • What happens at the happy ending?

  • They all become a big happy family. Long live friendship for all!

  • lol

  • dude i finnaly found out what the game is called i used to have this game when i was like 7 or 8

  • ....Obscene....

    You, sir, are a BADASS.

  • is it playable on Chankast or nullDC ?

  • I'm confused O_o

  • Do you have the PAL version? If so, put up some pics/videos of the dialogs, they're hilarious. XD

  • NO WAY. ¬_¬

  • Nice! Just can't seem to beat that last boss...

  • Mami sure has a lot of fun pulling off her shots, doesn't she? IKE! IKE! IKE!

  • Whoops, sorry guy, I went to hit the reply button, but hit remove instead. Anyway, to answer your question, yes it will be by Treasure.

Check the forums of my site if you want all the news on it. mrmonkeymandotcom

  • Thank you, I did a little research before you told me "mrmonkeymandotcom" and yeah, looks like I have a game to actually look forward to. Thank. And do you know anything about Treasure's mystery game for XBOX 360?

  • Their 360 game was temporarily put on hold so they could port Ikaruga to XBLA. It's a shmup, it's done by the guys that did Ikaruga, and that's all we know.

  • Guess whats coming to the DS...mwahaha its

    Bangaioh Tamashii

    This winter

    - 4 players via wireless play

    - stage editor included

  • I CAME.

  • lol yeah it was just officially confirmed in the latest issue of Famitsu. That and Ikaruga is coming to XBLA soon, as well as Rez (different I know, but its a pretty important XBLA release).

  • @Temjin99 Guess what's coming to the Xbox360...mwahaha its

    Bangai-O HD: Missile Fury

  • @scrapeape : Sadly, 3 years later :/

  • Thats was an impressive. The last boss gave me allot of trouble until I tried fighting him with missiles.

  • This game was amazing, too bad Treasure isn't big on making sequels. I got killed by the boss the first time because I wasn't expecting him to use a Vornado.

  • The funy thing is that this game IS a sequel and it's getting another sequel.

  • This isn't a sequel. It's the same as the N64 version with some gameplay changes, and improved graphics and sound.
