Ive got a 93 xr2 with a custom built 2.5inch dual exhaust, adjustable boost regulator (running 14psi), ported and milled cylinder head, MSD ignition, no cat, glass pack muffler and a few other things. It was a joy to build and more fun then my old acura RSX! Best part is that its not something you see every day!
I have a 91 xr2. The gauges in this car are all way off. Love the car though. I have a 2.25 inch full exhaust. Headers and downpipe are custom, I purchased the rest. This thing is a sleeper from he'll! No one sees this thing coming!
I agree that these cars do offer a big bang for the buck!!! I had 2 and the only mods i did was an HKS Intake and a Car-Delete and 2.5" exhaust... The difference is night and day!!!! Alot of ppl have issues with the oil reading low on pressure and the temp reading high. The oil is most usually a bad sending unit or a loose connection to the sending unit. Alsi the factory boost gauge is not near accurate at all in these cars, my first recommendation for anyone it to get a mechanical gauge.
Yeah I sold the car for an S4 RX-7 TII. The capri's oil should have been full here , it was like a week after I did an oil change. I wonder if my sending unit was messed up either way it ran good up until I sold it. The reason I put 0 100 pull is because most people will search 0 100 when looking for acceleration runs, just thought I would make it easier to find the video lol, I don't care to trick anyone. I took the car to Cordova Dragway )1/4 mile. I ran a 15.4 at 92 mph, 60ft was a 2.4
I love this sound! Prrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! :D

Boy, a lot faster than mine. I played this one and the one I made side by side (virtual drag racing????). I guess exhaust does make a difference.

You didn't hit 100 and check your oil, It's low. These cars use a lot of oil.

Low oil pressure :(

ok, what I meant was the wastegate is set at the stock level, your are correct though, it boost creeps due to an open exhaust.

Thats not stock boost, I have an xr2 that hits about 6psi, also with stock downpipe and a small catback w/no cat.
