This was the era of Soulive that will define their sound to my ears.

This newer 'smoother, more applicable' sound their going for is a far cry from this old raw funk right here.

It's a shame there isn't more of this older shit on youtube...

I saw them 4 times, twice in intimate venues where everyone was grooving hard.

But the later gigs of theres were incredibly gay,

with exception of the gig they did with Joshua Redman in NYC... That was incredible.

The organ actually got pedals which provide the lower tones, but obviously you already would know if you really hung out with the guys.

Actually if you knew anything Neal Evans doesn't use bass pedals...Its the truth there is no bass in these recordings...it is the recordings fault not the bands.
