  • When im 18 im gonna be riding in 1 of those in the future war

  • i would love to see australia make its own mbt's ifv's in the future as well

  • Well it beats walkin'

  • Thales Hawkei, now approved for use as a taxi in Sydney and Melbourne...

  • Riding in that would make you feel like your in a game of HALO

  • @barticus04 yeh i know its like the warthog apparetly only use for military like the warthog but idk its still new might be used in cities but obviously theyl take out the hard armour for roads LOL but man love australia i bet when im 18 ill be in 1 of them in the future war

  • Kym Bergmann editor APDR reviews the Thales Hawkei. copy paste

  • Looks awsome!

  • Why does Australia make stupid shit.... Like we even need to go to war anyways...

  • @anbrin and what country do come from

  • Just look at it from a tactical prospective. There is no v-shaped hull so an IED blown under it will decimate everyone on board. The windows don't even appear to be ballistic and it looks thin skinned. You could take it out with some 7.62 rounds an RPG 7 would kill it and the one behind it. The french are a bunch of frong eating surrender monkeys.

  • @clambelly3 First of all it's still a concept. Second of all it's main objective is to replace all the jeeps that are currently in use in the ADF, that of which has barely protection.

  • Why do Army people run their personal lives like a military exercise?Divorce rates must be high cos if you're a soldier you're gonna die!

  • Looks fucking beast

  • Its like a high tech version of the American humvee, I just cant believe the US troops go around in Humvee’s that don’t have a V shaped underbody, we should send them some of these for there guys out there. The outstanding thing about this is its advanced software systems .

  • @vsboy25 Just shows how Hi-tech Australia is compare to the USA haha xD

  • @GayBoyRunning Australia is capable of producing advanced weapons if we had the budget to do so.Americans hate buying anything that is not made by them which I don’t understand as there arrogance gets in the way of saving there guys out on the field In war.

  • @vsboy25 Well its a shame they have arrogant & ignorant behavior. Maybe because there born in a country where there goverment has control over there mines.

  • @vsboy25 Thats why the yanks are so shit at warfare.

  • @vsboy25 The Humvee is not made to go up against IED any more than a Willys jeep but With the introduction of the Stryker APC we got a better chance. BTW you Aussies are damn good soldiers unlike the french who are more than willing to send planes to Libya but Godforbid they break so much as a fingernail in Afghanistan or Iraq I swear the only French with any guts are the Foregin Legion Cheers from the USA

  • @patriot91101rip The French are not tough at all mate they are all talk no action, Aussie troops have fought along side American troops for almost most modern wars as we believe in helping our friends.

The Stryker is a great vehicle but more changes should have been made in Iraq which cost a lot of troops to go down due to IEDs.

  • @vsboy25 I agree with more changes my cousin was KIA from an EFP while driving a Humvee in Iraq in 2007. I think we should not be so tied to our own defense industry that we cant select product that is better than something we have here in the US. But one thing I cant believe we did is trade the M1911 for the Beretta 92 which is a good weapon but the 9mm parabellum round is not as good as the .45 ACP.

  • @vsboy25 there are numourus cases here in the US were Police with 9mm weapons have gone up against crooks high on PCP or heroin and empetied entire magazines into them and they were still alive and combative and more cases where police with .357 magnum or .45 acp only needed 2 or 3 rounds to stop a crook in equal situations.

  • @patriot91101rip

Yes I agree those weapons have much greater stopping power so I don’t know why the change was made I think it’s a cost issue and a maintance issue or procurement issue.

Most people for example who are on Mexican super meth a super powerful variant of meth are so high that they feel no bullets hitting them as there bodies have shut all senses off from normalcy.

  • @vsboy25 part of it was the stock of M1911's were getting worn out and couldnt be rebuilt any more and NATO was bitiching about ammo logistics. Plus the current M9s are being issued with crappy second rate magazines and bad magazines are not good for automatic pistols

  • @patriot91101rip It all comes down to cost issues and procurement programs in America, the government there needs ro spend a day with troops out in the field to see what they go through, espically during the peak of the Iraq insurgency were hajjis were killing everybody.

  • @vsboy25 they should spend a month as far as I am concerned

  • @patriot91101rip

So true buddy but like Donald Rumsfield ex defense boss once said “ I don’t do war zones” they just push papers around and treat troops like numbers nothing more, we cant change it as they are to powerful up the top, anyway all the best.

  • Thales fucking sucks. PRC-148= FAIL!

  • what is this so u can take your koala to the vet?! Get a Hummer H1

  • @swansongusa Hummer H1 is obsolete technology... It is designed to stop small arms fire, but not IED's.

This thing is a light and economical version of the Bushmaster, I also think you would be better protected from small arms in this vehicle because of the angled plates. It also seems more agile, and better suited to off road recon. It is just better in all areas... Futhermore, we could not use Hummer H1 because Australia would have procurement concerns. We need guaranteed supply.

  • Sexy

  • im so effing excited by this that im going to wait until they are released to join the army : )

  • i think this thing actually looks pretty sweet.

  • now least for $3,000 a week

  • its not and if people want to be blown up in humves let them id rather ride the hawkei and it looks awesome

  • It kinda looks futuristic, Better then that ugly USA Hummer thing. Honestly its Good to know Australia is making stuff thats Australian made.. Good Vid so far.

  • @GayBoyRunning the bushmaster was designed by a uni sa student and built by a australian company.

  • @GayBoyRunning LOL I thought it looked like a future hummer ! lol Maybe America will buy these from oz and stop loosing troops to road side bombs !

  • @GayBoyRunning

wygląd tutaj odgrywa chyba mało ważną role

  • @zielony404 could you try not to use Google translate when u think u know to speak another language... (look here plays a very important role unless) I couldn't under what the hell you were saying.

  • nice. think it's about time we got a replacement for the land rovers.

  • fuckin poojabbers saying it looks bad, its an army vehicle, not a fuckin limo

  • @droctagon3k ha! poojabbers, im gonna use that now!

  • @droctagon3k i rekon it look fkn sweet

  • @droctagon3k I think it looks awsome.

  • @droctagon3k They say it looks bad wtf??? It looks fucking awesome!!!

  • Their probably upset because the vehicle won't match their handbag :)

  • looks like a gay version of a Humvee

  • @TerrbleTrioHerb except for the fact it surpasses every aspect of a HMMWV, greatly in the aspect of surviving an IED and being much more durable.

  • @xIDeltaIx point taken.

they should make it look a bit better tho..

  • @TerrbleTrioHerb front on it does look odd, but function over fashion i guess is the aim

  • @TerrbleTrioHerb

Would be a better look and better protected version...

  • @asjeot See, I disagree. Where the Hummer looks like a beastly fighting vehicle, this thing looks like an ugly pussy SUV with poser camo

  • @asjeot Although I have to agree that it is probably very effective at what it does, so yay Australia.

  • Umm, when did Thales become an Australian company???

  • @PN0605

Australian branch of a foreign company.

  • @PN0605

never... atleast these things would be made in Australia and that's something

  • @PN0605 the company is french but have a australian branch

  • So, do you work directly for Thales 'AussieDreamChaser' or have you just not done your research?

Track record would show issues with mass production, never mind the better vehicles already on the market that have been tested in service and can be made locally.

  • Note I said "IF" the Hawkei passes all testing. "IF" another Aussie entry is better than the Thales one I am all for it. Either way I would prefer an Australian built and designed replacement for the Landrovers and I believe the Bushmaster has proven itself so Thales have credit already with the ADF, and besides, the Hawkei just looks a million times better than anything else out there : )

  • If the Hawkei passes all testing and, given the lessons learnt and the proven track record of the Bushmaster, if our Government does not give the contract to this awesome local Aussie company and this beast of a machine, then something is definitely 'Rotten in Denamark.' Im a fan of the USMC and our close friends and ally, but we need to keep some of our next gen military procurements bloody local. It has so many pluses that this is the only way to go. I hope the Light Cav Scouts get these : )
