  • OMG he´s gorgeous. That is a fantastic result for a first try. It´s persuaded me to go that way instead of spending 10,000 on a DSLR & telephoto lens. Thanks for posting.

  • @stephen25uk

Thank you so much. Yes, I was surprised and really pleased myself. Good luck :)

  • incredible looking bird..... never seen colours like that in the wild................

  • @sheepsfoot2 Thank you so much. We have several beauties in our yard to enjoy.

  • @Ozscii I used a Celestron Telescope. I see below I used the wrong name on my answer to another person. ooops sorry. It was purchased back in the early 1990's so it's been around a while. Your scope will probably work great. The key to doing digiscoping well is having a little camera that fits well on your scope.

  • que maravilloso video y lindos colores !!!!!! que telescopio usaste ???????? felicidades te quedo precioso el video. saludos de chicago illinois

  • @patamochita

  • Nice footage well done

  • Thanks very much :)

  • What digiscoping lens did you use? How much did you pay? What video camera?

I am asking because I want to do stuff like this in the near future.

  • Hi Daniel, Thank you for the comment and question. I used a Celestron Telescope. It's old, purchased in early 1990's so the cost today I don't know. Any highend Telescope that your camera will fit to the eyepiece will work. I used a Canon A540 Powershot camera held up to the eyepiece of the Celestron and used Video mode, viewing the picture through the LED. Viola, simple and easy. Hard part is getting the bird to co-operate. I was lucky with this one.
