  • I'm a big Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier fan, so I'm really excited about Vitus coming to the liquor stores here on February 26. This should be good!

  • man yous a drunk

  • you are suppose to whirl the bottle and then pour the rest, the sediment is part of the experience foo , prost !

  • Quite funny review...

BTW - I just got two "Vitus" and before opening another one I typed in "Weihenstephaner Vitus" in the YouTube search field, ending up here!

    Cheers outta' Munich...

    D.O.E.

  • I had this beer just last night...got ten of them...so good...but I must say I like a good variety of beers... I find IPA's to be great

  • I live 10 minutes away from the brewery^^

    If you haven't tried out, try " Corbinian " it's a " dunkler Bock "

( Excuse my german english...... )

PS: There is a university up there in Weihenstephan, where you can study brewing technology

  • "Wooooahhaaa hahahahaha yeeeaaahaha, that is some sick smoke brother, wow that is so sick smoke brother!" Best line ever.

  • 5:37 "Lets see what kind of smokewe can get from a 1048 AD Beer Bro"

5:50 "Wooooooooow yeahhhhhh, thats some sick smoke, ohh yeah , thats some sick smoke brother yeahh thats some sick smoke , yeahh , i love some smoke ... "

  • the kcal is kilo calories :)

  • Also, you take a nice long draw from the beer like a real man should.

  • LOL.You are fucking awesome.

  • Green chili cheese bagel?????????????? WTF

  • Just bought one and found your site, and man you nailed it! If I buy any other "unknown" beers in the future, I'll be sure to reference to your vids. Btw, my girfriend says you are a "cool dude"

  • i love that you started as a complete amateur... now you know a lot of your brews, you usea beeradvocate, you can tell apart a style from another... beer is what makes us better... keep this wonderful job and im looking forward to enjoy my next vitus!

  • 5:51 awesome reaction

  • This beer will knock anyone on there ass if you have this in multiple servings :) I learned that the hard way, since I didn't check the bottles for the ABV before I started drinking it lol

  • I have had the Hefeweissbier Dunkel from these guys. I thought it was great. I really enjoyed it. In fact I have my second one sitting in the fridge now!

I have not seen the Vitus, but if I do I will surely give it a try. Thanks Joe!

  • So I'm a big fan of wheat beers, everything from Fat Tire, Blue Moon, Shock Top, and basically all the other wheat beers I have had, so I decided after talking to the guy at the liquor store here in Broomfield, CO that I would go ahead and try. After trying it I can honestly say that I do not like it at all. Overly carbonated, weird flavor that I didn't find to be pleasant, just all around an unpleasant experience for me. Next time I will stick with my american beers.

  • had a group of german buddies in foreign exchange, they would drink this stuff all day and were so very proud of it. Oldest Brewery in the world!!

  • wait i thought black dudes only drank colt 45 and old english just kidding lolololololololololololololololololol

  • the liquor store by me sells this for $2.50 the best deal in town

  • Weihenstephaner Vitus ...... Mein lieblings Bier!

  • This isnt a reivew but a joke. Read a review from a cicerone or a bcbj certified beer judge.

They don't add clove to the beer, it's a byproduct of fermentation and comes from the strand of yeast. The weihenstephan wheat beer yest is the defacto standard of yeast and used by almost all other wheat beer breweries.

  • buddy...anyone that jugs a beer, cant finalize a beer, You have to savor the taste!

  • One thumb up? wow... really love this brand of beer

  • thanks for being honest dude - lots of people would say that it's the best thing in the world just because it's foreign and weird-sounding! You're honest, that's why I watch!!

  • jjdaven has like 40 beer reviews lol

should consider it as a job

  • you were in nurnburg i just got back from there

    i loved the beer there

it is the home of tucher

did you try any of that, i was very satisfied with their pils, but there was better hefeweizens close, there is a brewery in erlangen that brews all natural hefeweizen every day

did you attend the nurnburger volksfest?

  • you might wanna get a flashlight to show people things in the beer. should get it to show up i if you light the glass from the bottom and turn off the desk light.

  • Man you're a hype, for beer. lol its ok tho prost!

  • @TEUFELHuNDEN420 Thank you I really do enjoy beer.

  • I am crazy about Weihenstephaner, this Bavarian beer is among my 5 favorite beers! Very, very hard to find here in Miami or may I say near impossible. Try it if you find it!

  • @gianni2590 I will have to see if I can find it. Thanks for watching.

  • It's strong beer season. Prost!

I enjoyed this brew a month ago in Manhattan. Fresh keg from Germany at Zum Schneider. I didn't notice the excessive carbonation but I could feel the spice and ABV. Delicious on tap and served in an authentic Weihenstephan glass.

  • @twangtones I am glad you enjoyed it. This is one of the better wheat beers I have had. Thanks for watching.

  • Hi,

for those who are interested in the translation of the 'Wheatbeer Waltz' (opening tune)

If it wasn't for Weihenstephan there wouldn't be beer,

and if there was no beer in the world it would be sad here,

    The Weihenstephan Monks discovered it,

no wonder that Wheatbeer tastes so good!

no wonder that Wheatbeer tastes so good!

    ;-)

    Joe from Germany

  • Thank God for those monks. Beer = Happy :).

  • I love Saint Corbinian and Saint Vitus

  • schneider weisse aventinus,

    prost!

  • 1000 calories = 1 kcal = 1 Calorie. so the beer is just 260 Calories per half liter

  • Thank you for the info.

  • Loving the german folk!! Have you done manns brown ale?

  • No I haven't done that one yet. I will have to look for it. Thanks for watching.

  • Not had this exact beer but, iam a great fan of this style so i hope to pick some up.

I love Belguim and German beers however, i noticed that you find them Lackluster ; can you explain this.

    Thanks

  • When I was in Germany I loved the beer but now that I am back here for a long time the beers all have a certain slightly bitter taste to me. Hard to explain but I can even smell it and just don't really care for them. It seems to be mostly lagers and lighter beers

  • Thanks for your opinion

  • I tried this one recently myself and thought it was fairly good.

  • Thanks for giving your opinion. You had about the same opinion as me it would seem.

  • ps/ kcal is the same as calories :)

  • Thank you that was the best and simplest way anyone has explained it.

  • mate, you get cooler by the minute!

  • Great Review, as always!

Weizenbock ist not an 'everyday beer' but not bad from time to time..

I lived in Nuernberg for 8 years, did you visit the Christmas Market?

Hope you tried the 3 small brats in a roll ;-)

  • I am glad we have another thing in common, living in Nuremberg. I have a hard time remembering things anymore cuz it was a long time ago, but I had a lot of fun there.

  • Good review. Never had the beer, but, like you, wheat beer isn't really my thing. Don't hate it, but I'm not fanatical about it. If you get the chance get the Canis Major variety pack by Flying Dog Brewing Co. They make some good beer, they do. Keep up the reviews, brother.

  • I love Flying Dog drink their brews from time to time. Thanks for watching.

  • no Problem

    Grettings form Germany

  • Thanks

  • Love the smoke reaction.

    Keep up the great videos!

  • Thank you so much for watching.

  • Seems like you trying to hard....

  • No that was just gas, ha-ha.

  • Oh ok then.....

  • You had a Franziskaner before? That's probably the best German hef you can get in America (or the Stiegl, which is Austrian).

  • I will have to see if I can find that one. So many beers so little time, ha-ha.

  • Haha, awesome one, brother. Sounds good.

    Take care.

    -Josh

  • Thanks for watching.

  • kcal = Cal

    cal = cal

I like the k better than the capitol letter.

  • Thanks for the breakdown of kcal.

  • yeah Germany the beerland xD

we had over 14.000 brewery in 1872ad at the moment we have 1300 still al lot ^^

    Prost

  • Great info thanks!!

  • Great review, thanks! I had been kind of thinking that about the smoke, but it's hard to beat a reason like "freaking cool"!

  • Ha-ha, sometimes that's the only reason we have to do something. Thanks for watching.

  • not only did it start around 1040, there were documented hop farms on those feilds since 740 in upper freising bavaria. good review bud.

  • Wow that is some interesting info. Thanks for watching.

  • Like always, great review. If you like I can send you some belgian beers, send me a pm if you are interested.

  • Thank you very much. Sure I would review any beer you send. My address is on my main page.

  • I'll be tasting this beer for sure, it has a great history and man, that song was aaaawsome =D

  • It is definatly worth a try. I loved that song it brought back a ton of memories from Germany.

  • im new to your videos but you got me wondering about your cap collection, have you done a video on them yet?

  • I haven't done a video yet but I do have a pic on my flickr stream.

  • Haha it sure is.

  • I have a review for that posted. Thank you for watching.

  • Another great review Joe, loved it.

How ya spend the new years / christmas ?

  • The holidays were very nice we all had a great time. Thanks for asking and I hope your holidays were the same.

  • Wine-stef-on-er.

  • more like why-hen-stef-ahn-er phonetically

  • Thanks for the help pronouncing it.

  • Wow that was a ton of gas coming from that.

  • It sure was looked pretty cool. Thanks for watching.

  • I happen to know the fact that Jo D brought up in the video.

The bottle said 260 kcal (pronounced kilo-calorie). 1 kcal = 1 Cal = 1 dietary Calorie. Notice that 1kcal is equal to 1 capital C Cal.

So when you look at a bottle of US beet and it says 260 Calories, it is the same as 260 kcal.

1 cal is the amount of energy required to raise 1 g of water 1 degree celsius. Since kilo is 1000, 1 kcal is the amount of energy required to raise 1000g of water 1 degree celsius.

    Hope this helps.

  • Little confusing but I think I am starting to understand. Thanks for the info.

  • awesome smoke! will you try Hoegaarden its a good belgium wit and easy to find

  • I will have to try and remember that one. Thanks for the suggestion and for watching.

  • Youve never had a hoegaarden Joe? damn man you deserve one.

  • kcal = kilocalorie, a measurement of energy in food (or pretty much anything).

I like regular hefeweizens and witbiers but weizenbocks are a bit of an acquired taste.

I was in Frankfurt, Germany for one day on my way to Iraq.

  • I was wondering what that kcal meant.

I spent a little over a year over there in different parts of Germany. It was a lot of fun but I was glad to get back.

  • wicked smoke

  • I love some great smoke.

  • Ahhh green chile on a bagel. Only in New Mexico, lol. I should check this beer out. I know wheat beers aren't your thing, but it seems like it's worth a try. Great review bro.

  • Haha your right we love our green chile here.

I really do like wheat beers but German beers is what I really don't like to much. But it was definatly worth a try like you said. Thanks.

  • 1000 calories=1 kcal= 1 Calorie. The calories you see on food labels are usually Calories (capital C), but this also really means you are dealing with kcalories.

  • Thanks for the info it was helpful.

  • Hahah, love the song :D

  • Isn't that song great!! I might even make it a ringtone on my phone. Thanks for watching.

  • love your reviews man. i mean everyone has their own taste and opinion on a certain product but your reviews are so lively and comical (in a good way!) keep the reviews coming brother!

  • You are exactly right we do all have our own taste. That is why I encourage others to try it for yourselves. You might like something I don't like. Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • haha feelin' alright during this review?

  • Of course, I was feeling great. My reviews might seem different when I don't have the background music in there. I was just short on time and wanted to get this review posted.

  • haha to be honest i didn't notice the lack of music until you mentioned it

  • lol i love the space out when your talking about germany lol mad funny yo.. lol KEEP IT UP JDIZZLE

  • I had such a great time in Germany but was very happy to get back to America when it was time. But I am very glad I got to spend such a long time there and learned a lot about the people and culture. Thanks for watching.

  • gotta love these joe, there always good. very informative and funny :D, keep it up!
