I once saw a vid of an iguana whipping and popping balloons....can't remember where now but it was hilarious! Id' caution you to curb your teasing-however harmless it may be to you-until you know for sure it's not stressing the iguana out. As silly as it may seem, I remember when I got whipped by a tokay gecko, yes GECKO, which it's tail is about half the size and it left a red tail mark across my face......hurt like a bitch. it's certainly a good enough defense for them to get away if they needed. I can only imagine getting whipped in the face from an adult iguana.

GOD, everyone SHUT UP, the iguana is not being abused, hurt, or beaten. It is just doing a natural reflex. Sure the person is poking it, and if the iguana becomes aggressive then that's the persons problem. Iguanas are mean animals. I handled mine every day since the day I got him and he is still the meanest animal in my house. 50 % of iguanas are friendly, this one and mine fall into the other 50 %. I got bite marks and scratches to show that my ig used to be quite a angry fellow when he was younger. and if they're pissed off (it's pretty easy to tell from the stance and bobbing) just leave them alone. they're not dogs after all.

Iguana tail whips can draw blood. This animal doesn't seem in too much distress... caveat being he might be using up quite a bit of energy: reptiles have relatively slow metabolisms. a week's worth of food/energy was arguably used up during these 3 minutes. Cute vid, though. Watch yer eyes.... ;)
