Yes. The Barricade 7 which replaces this one comes in a clay specific version (deep full herringbone pattern), but even the regular outsole works well on clay on both the 6 and 7.
I'm waiting on the white/black w/ red stripe, but had I known that the Barricade is Murray's signature shoe, I wouldn't have bought them. On the other hand, the Dragon edition that symbolizes the year of the dragon looks sweat. I'm thinking about declining delivery of plain white/black and ordering the Dragon. Anyone w/ either shoe have an opinion on which looks and feels better?
We are not familiar with the ClimaCool Ride, however, the Yonex SHT 307 Clay features an outsole pattern similar to a grass sole pattern (nubs rather than tread) and would be my choice if I didn't have a grass court shoe.
lol that is such an ugly shoe in comparison to the barricade 5,and i just cannot see how you breathe better in this shoe.I own a barricade 5 but I have to say the barricade 4 has the best design. The barricade 5 however is better in terms of function, it is lightweight and stable, and it takes quite a while to wear out. It's a fantastic shoe and definitely better than my previous shoe, the nike air vapor 5 which had such a classy design. I'm considering maybe switching to nike or getting another 5.
I am thinking of buying a new pair of shoes for this season. Nike Court Ballistec 3.3 or adidas barricade 6. could you please give me a straight up answer on which is better. im looking for a duriable, comfortable and good looking shoe. thanks
Hi TW, i went to know if the Adidas barricade 6 is more durable then the Nike court ballistic 3.3 as i wore those shoes out in one and a half months. I usually play 5 times a week.
Can you already slide comfortably on clay courts? If so that will help. The key is speed and getting very low, the lower/wider your stance the safer it is to slide on a hard court. However, it is not something to strive for, more of something that happens out of necessity.
@ETRaPiiDz Both shoes will require a break-in period before the shoe gets comfortable. The 3.3 is just a bit wider in the forefoot than the Barricade 6.
I am a hard court player and I have a problem with painful black toe nails on my right thumb whenever I player more than an hour, Is there a shoe you would recommend that would take care of this problem and would still be durable?
You could try the Asics Gel Resolution 3. It features a six-month outsole guarantee but did not last me as long as these. The Nike Air Courtballistec 3.3 would be another shoe to look at.
I am looking for a pair of tennis shoes which will prevent overpronation. I have very flat feet and wear supports in my normal shoes. However, these are too uncomfortable to wear for sports and I need something with the highest built-in arch possible.
Would this be the Barricade 6? The other option seems to be the Asics Gel Resolution 3. Any advice appreciated.
@royalholloway22 We found the adidas adiPure Pro to have a very high arch. If that is still not high enough for you, I would recommend getting outsoles. We love the ones from Superfeet. Try the Orange colored one, it's for medium to high arch feet.
Hi. Im looking for a new pair of tennishoes and cant decide between these Adidas Barricade 6 or the Asics Gel Resolution 3. Which would you recommend ?? I play on artificial sportsgrass btw. Thanks
hey im 12 playing in boys under 14 tournaments once or twice a month. i currently use nike max air but i find that their grip isnt very good. im looking at the barricade teams and and play a mix of offence and defence.. when im playing defence, with the max air, i found that i couldnt run or sprint as quickly as i could with other shoes and my legs got tired more - i think this is because the shoes were heavy - would your recommend the barricade team?
The Barricade Team does not offer the performance of the Barricade 6. The Barricade 6 is a far superior shoe, but it is built more for stability and durability rather than speed. If you are looking for a speed shoe, look at the adiZero Feather, adiPURE Pro, Nike Lunar Vapor 8 Tour, Babolat Propulse 3 and the Asics Gel Resolution 3. You will give up some durability for speed, but that is the nature of the beast.
While the Team versions of Barricades are cosmetically similar, they do not have the performance technologies. The Barricade 6 offers far superior support, stability and ride.
hey im 12 years old and probably do a tournament or 2 every month and dont want anything to flashy but if i take tennis very seriously would u reccomend these to me
I did indeed spend some time with the PS Ltd. I love the control, feel, and pocketing. The only real issue I had with that stick was that I couldn't find any effective power when I was serving with it. I experimented with string and tension for awhile to find a happy medium, however, I have been experimenting lately with different racquets to find a little more pop, as well as maintaining the type of control I like. The racquet in the video is the Wilson KFactor Kobra Tour.
@platowasthestig I'm hitting with the Boris Becker Delta Core London. It's my new stick of choice. I was never a Pure Storm Ltd player, I believe that was Spencer. My old racquet was the Volkl Powerbridge 9.
@napoleanboots I'm currently writing a blog about my switch now, so that should help explain things in more detail. But, in short, I switched because I felt it would help me get over the hump. It's been a frustrating learning experience so far, but I'm going to stick with it and see what happens. I take it you are a one hander yourself?
was it named barricade because it has the same color with "barricade" from the transformers movie? lol

What shoe/s do you recommend for players with wide feet?
jantisoy 7 months ago
@jantisoy,
New Balance offer shoes in 2E and 4E widths to accommodate players with wider feet. The 1187 would be a good place to start.

If you were playing on hard courts, I would say the Barricade 6, but since durability wont be an issue, I'd go with the lighter Gel Res 3.
