I live just outside of Spokane Washington and during the snowstorm of '08, I used a D9 cat to plow my 954 ft gravel driveway. But I salute the people who do this for long periods of time.

Randy W. Strait, the owner of Arctic snow and Ice control, i know him pretty well and he told me of a storm in 1980(i could be mistaken) when he ended up plowing for over 60 hours plus, he had just bought a new truck and when he was done plowing the 3,000 parking space lot, he went home and the truck died when he pulled into the drive way. This is not a lie, you can go to his website, he started in plowing in 1978. He has several guys that work for him that have backed him up on the story.

Aw come on, just 3 hours. Big Deal. I live in Canada and went out with my boss to plow some driveways after a big snow fall. We we're out working for 5 hours. '08 Hemi Ram with 7'5" Western plow. It did the job just fine.

Now now there's no need to be competitive with the kid. He's obviously just proud of being able to go out and plow with his dad.

If you really want to get competitive I've gone 23 hours straight behind an 84 International S1600 with a 10' plow and a 4speed manual, then this past storm in Jersey only about 17 hours behind the 86 International S1900 with a 12' stationary plow.

I am 17 and work for my dads business up here in Canada, I am a crew supervisor handling about 12 employees...it is a tough job at 17. but I plowed 18 hours straight on 2 hours of sleep after managing the employees and taking phone calls for about 8 hours before I slept.. haha. I envy your winters, Canada can certainly be killer, but none the less, if we don't plow it, everyone who hates on us would be paralyzed come snow

my dad has a 86' dodge power wagon with a western plow on it not a new one. but i with we painted it all up and made it look like a brand new one. ya i remember my dad and i plowing together i really like spending that time with my dad plow. scene i got older and bigger my dad lets me plow are driveway out know its really get driving the truck and not a tractor. plow safe!
