How big was the body on this? Heil recently started building custom manual mods of these for us that are split 50/50 and feature a larger hopper that accepts two carts at a time. However they don't seem as large as the new Labrie 50/50 splits we have.
Looks like they are trying to copy Labrie by painting the arm yellow. I would like to see this truck in action. Like the other guys said, at least they are trying to do better. Good looking truck! Thanks for all you posts...
@supergarbageman I hope we do get at least one just to see it in action. It must be industry standard that tote dumpers and automated arms are school bus yellow.
Nice truck. I don't think its as good as a McNeilus M/A or Labrie Expert Helping Hand, but a nice try by Heil. How have you been? Still driving the split body side loader?
@mcbombting At least Heil is putting the effort in. I am no long driving the Side Loader. Back in Jan we picked up a new town contract and I decided to take it over so I now have the same truck and same routes every week. I now drive a 2010 frontend resi which was put on the road back in April. I have video of it and just waiting to finish editing it all. Maybe in 2 weeks i'll have it done. Whats up over out west there?
@NYMegaMan Yeah that is true. Must be a Mack LE on that resi FL? Curotto or manual can w/lifter? I hope to see that in action! Things have been crazy over here. I only do my usual routes on Mon and Fri now. The rest of the week, I do double routes some days, commercial cardboard RL routes, and pretty soon a FL garbage route.
I totally forgot that this truck is part of their product line, suppose a reason being that we've never really seen it before... I was thinking that this was the MultiPack! Thanks for the share, hopefully we'll see one of these actually collecting one day...
Great work. Looks like Heil have realised that the Python arm is rubbish and might use the new Rapid Rail arm as thieir main arm. For bins and loose garbage, this truck would be very good. Just a shame that Heil haven't updated their website yet!
