For anyone who's calling Deerhunter indie, I have to disagree. They have been on mtv, and have over 1 million views on their myspace. Just an opinion though, so hate it or love it all you want.

Having over 1 million myspace hits does not make you commercial. =| They're not signed to a major record label, they write and perform all music by themselves, and they don't make a whole lot of money doing it. Deerhunter are independent band, as are their side projects, Atlas Sound, Lotus Plaza, and "S.I.D.S.". Plus, you know, they're badass.

Of course, I love Deerhunter. I'm just saying that there is more indie bands out there. And "Let The Blind lead Those who can not feel" is one of the most refreshing albums I've listened to in a long time.

Funny Story. My friend and I were trying to write a song that sounded a lot like The Strokes and came up with a chord progression. Months later, that Deerhunter Noise Pop video with the RCE songs was put on youtube. The chord progression that we came up with was so similar to Disappearing Ink. It was a spooky coincidence.

im really glad someone else pointed out that this sounded like the strokes! i had such an argument with my dad about that! haha, i loved the strokes, don't listen to them so much anymore, but they really bring me back to 7th grade haha.
