the playing is beautiful, but that conductor's gotta lay off a little bit jazz isn't all about that strictness, you never see people conducting real jazz bands at anything they stand off to the side and let the artists do their own thing. still fluid playing though i'm impressed
@JDA315 It's sort of a part of high school jazz band. Sometimes, especially on lyrical pieces like this, the younger groups can't hold it together on their own. Back in my high school especially my senior year, our new drummer wasn't confident enough to take the reins completely, so our director had to conduct.

Believe me, I know. Jazz happens on its own most of the time, but as good as those kids sounded, they needed me up there!
