  • Aww,looks Soo Good!

  • thank you, i wish i know you... i would meet you before smile...

  • I have a question about your fryer. When you fry the fish don't the temperature drop just a bit or does this fryer keep the temp right at all times. I have a Waring and the temp drops then comes back up. Would like to have a fryer like yours seems like a good investment!

  • What is the cost on that fryer friend?

  • Scott thanks for sharing your knowledge. -A

  • This looks great!!! I am definitely trying these recipes. Your explanation of each step is excellent...I will have to check out some of your other recipes Thank You

  • I noticed you have a deep fryer. I've read that deep fryer's can cause a lingering smell of burnt oil in your kitchen. Is this accurate? I was advised to only use deep fryers outdoors. Thanks!

  • your amazing!

  • Perfect meal...!

  • Thanks for the recipe!! Great Video and very well communicated..=)

  • OMG Hush Puppies are the absolute best! I cant find anyone that makes them in nyc, so I'll attempt to make them myself.

  • Hey Scooter, where's the beer?!? Man, next to snook, catfish is my favorite fish. So mild and flaky!!! Looks good.

  • That catfish looks amazingly delicious! If i was to cooked the full filet should i leave it in the deep fryer a little longer than 8 minutes? or is 8 minutes enough to fully cook the fish?

PS: i need to get myself one of those electric deep fryers!!! Thanks for sharing your receipes

  • what are hush puppies?

  • its like fried bread but it is so good it has seasonings in it but it is better

  • Nice.

  • Hey Scott. I love your recipes. I also live in Portland and am looking for a good seafood/butcher. I hate having to settle for what I can find at Fred Meyer, but I hate the prices at Whole Foods, or Zupans...do you have any suggestions for me for a place to find items like shrimp, crawfish, catfish, andouille, etc.??? thanks.

  • I like buying seafood at some of the asian markets around town like Uwajamaya or H-Mart. As for butchers, I do most of my own butchering and buy my beef from a local farmer. I'd recommend looking around your neighborhood for a stand-alone butcher and give them a try... you may just hit the jackpot.

    Good luck! -Scott

  • great recipe scott we made it tonight and it was delicious!

  • I just found your videos!!! Today I made my first gumbo from scratch.... i've always cheated with the mixes! Wish I would have found your video BEFORE I started! Would've saved me A LOT of trouble.... you do a great job explaining everything and your recipes are great!

  • I have been frying catfish lately and everywhere I buy the fish from, it always tastes muddy like it just came out of a dirty pond. Is there any suggestion you might have

  • great vids man

  • hey scott ,i have favourited your catfish vid so all my the ppl who look at my catfish vids can use your recipe to fry their fish...

    5 stars my good man!

also i used your recipe on pulled pork. very helpful thanks

  • what does the baking soda, and baking powder do? (im not much a cook, so im just curious)

  • Generally Baking Powder and Baking Soda are used to make a baked product (like cake or cookies and some breads) light and fluffy. In this recipe it just gives the crust a bit of a flakiness.

  • hey great video, ive been looking for a good fish batter thanks.

ps. i kind of a catfish guru myself!

my chanel will explain it all !

  • I love watching (and learning) from your cooking videos!

Any advice on a decent food processor?

  • Cuisinart makes a great food processor, but there are many other brands that make really great ones too. Look for a solid construction, steel blades, and easy to use button operation. If you're in doubt, go to a well-respected kitchen store and talk to the sales staff. They'll be able to answer your specific questions about the products they carry.

  • Thanks for answering my question! I've been considering the CuisinartProCustom DLC8S.

  • thank you again scott. my girlfriend loves you ..... i wont let her near the kitchen i wanna cook it all myself
