I do understand that precious metals go up when the markets are flooded with cheap money created out of thin air by central banks. Because metals are not created, they're constant. But what about when a huge financial crisis hit? When a lot of people lose money and a lot of value is simply destroyed?

Won't the prices of silver go down as well in a deflationary scenario like these?

I just checked my eBay bids. Nothing. For the entire last weekend through now Wed. I have not found anything lower than 36 and change. Most physical is selling at forty and above with time to go still. $47 on one and two days to go. Larger size pieces and amts. are all selling above 40 - Eagle tubes sell over 900.

They don't have to shut down the site. They can just not changes their sell price. I was on the site monday morning and was able to buy at 31.44. The $26 price was overnight in the asian markets. It never opened here at 26

@natritious1 I think the cost of recovery will increase the per ounce cost. I also think those coins will have far higher numismatic value than precious metal value. There will of course be some that makes it into the market. Apparently the British Govt is getting 20% off the top...odd how its in Irish water..Hmm...

The find was many months ago. There is a chance that its factored into the price already.. but it may save a bank or an exchange's neck for some delivery
