You guys must not been playing Freedom server vary much. And from the fact i got this complete collection in the store. The one thing that was so interesting is the tip missions and morality missions, I'm a Rogue. This game is addicting, Plus theres a lot of skilled players on freedom that knows ever aspect of the game for pvp, etc.

@SupremacyGod100 no heroes can be vigilantes which means good guys but well fights like a villain and kill people while villains can be rogue which means they betray arachnos or the mercenaries and be a lone wolf both let u go to rogue isles or paragon city but BEWARE being a rogue or vigilante means less contact than Heroes and Villains

i like the game, but like ALL mmos, they went too far with their updates and made too many changes, they recently did that to WoW and i think it happened to CoH when they added that architect issue, it starts to get to the point where they dont do the old missions and chains anymore, still like CoH though, might start it up again when this comes out

Kinetic Melee is pretty cool. For those who don't know, if you purchase GR you get KM. It has a kind of Kung Fu/Wu Shu hand motion animation to it. I'm reading a lot on the chat channel (PinnBadges) that KM/Shld, KM/SR are some nice builds.
I currenlty have a lvl 24 KM/SR that's pretty fun. (Wish KM had a kick or two, like Dragon's Tail or Crane Kick from the Martial Arts set. Then you could really look like a Kung Fu master battling 8 - 10 guys at once.)

Yeah, people said the same thing when Champions Online hit. In Fact, people will say that shit any time anything *new* comes out. Well, duh! Be it XBox 360, PS3, or PC games, of course players will stop playing their current MMO-in this case CoH-to check out the new stuff. Doesn't mean CoH is dead or is gonna die. It was the same thing when StarCraft 2 launched in July, some folks were all: "Oh, SC2 Came out! CoH is dead." IDK man, people just have this thing about CoH dying...
Seems most of the comments here aren't even about this video. Just a bunch of people saying CoH/V is dead, WoW is better, etc. The people saying the game is dead aren't even saying, "This could be a cool improvement" or whatever. These people probably said the same stuff when they released CoV as an expansion, when they combined CoH and CoV into one game, when they added new powers, when the added "Ultra-mode", etc.

This is a great game. I'm a very dedicated but casual gamer, and I think this is the best possible game for someone like me to play. I haven't played many other mmo's but when I make a new toon i'll often run into other low lvls who've come from other games. I've yet to find one person who didn't love the game. Xevion the Destroyer is one such person coming from WoW. He said he loved that there were no hour long CD's, how unrestricted the powers were, and how it really made you feel like a hero.
The game is not dead or dying. It has a solid player base on Freedom and Virtue and it's easy to find a team. Imo this is the best MMO out there and I've played most of them since EQ in '99. If you don't like GR, don't play. Who cares. If you're a loot whore or pvp jockey, go elsewhere. Keep playing WoW. It's not a bad game but totally unlike CoX or GR. If you like PvP, try Warhammer. EQ2 is also a good game. I play CoH because I have more fun there than in any other game.
the CoX games are the one of the few MMO Games that didn't bore me. Amazing character creation and power selection. They also listen to what the players want give them something to look forward too. This game will not die because it is constantly improving. Going Rogue will make the game even more unique from it's competition. While Champions online make have a better costume maker, it's a very cliche and straightforward comic book MMO. It doesn't hold much too it besides that.
The wait for this expansion is killing me. I can't indulge in my altitis because I know I'll delete them all so I can roleplay their rise to fame or fall from grace.
Obviously (by my name) I play CoH. Been playing close to 3 yrs and I'm starting to see what some 5 yr vets are saying. I took some time off the game cuz... well,..it's become boring. It still follows the usual suspects of gaming: Go Here, Collect That, Kill This Person and Rescue Whoever. And you do this with recycled powers. I understand it takes a LOT of time to make a NEW power set and all, but come on. Enough of the recycling..(i'm aware we're getting 2 NEW power sets I'm just saying).
Honestly, this is by far my favorite MMO so far, I really can't wait until this expansion hits. :D The amount of content they've added in freebie patches alone is outrageous. Obviously they can only afford to do it because of the character costume packs but still :P $20 for the game, a month's time, and 2 boosters? Almost makes me wish I was just coming to the game.

@megamcgee. Victory is a good pop server. But everyone knows that Freedom (Freedumb) is THE server of CoH. I know a few players who had to LEAVE Dumb cuz of all the lag from too many players.
And with the free limited transfer tickets Im reading (on PinnBadges) that more and more players are transfering to Dumb.
Hehe yeah I'm already in Freedom =D Yeah I never saw anyone on Victory, wait no that's not true, I saw a few in the starting area and one guy flying off in the distance. I've never seen a server above a light load though! I'm enjoying Freedom and being able to pug and play missions whenever, unlike, say wow, we're I mostly soloed.
Who are you on VIctory? I'm @Darth Cthulhu (Scarlet Titan is my main). I just moved all my characters over to Virtue. High population, really easy to pug, and not as many noobs as Freedom.

(2) I absolutely agree 100%. Heaven forbid the Devs get blamed for anything. And I get/understand creating new powers takes time, but damn, enough of the recycled powersets. And lvl 50 mishes... good luck when you've done'em all (like I have) All I can get is scanner mishes or Boros. Did all my contact arcs so I can't get new ones.

I agree with the WW price cap before launch. Go ahead and try buying any type of Kinetic Combat, Mako's Bite, Touch Of Death, Crushing Impact, or Luck of the Gambler +global recharge for 50 mill... not gonna happen.
I remember when I 1st started, didn't have the cash, but they went for 40 - 60 mill (sometimes 80 mill). Problem is: some retards run their SG/VGs like a company and treat WW like a RL stock market rasing prices to 100 mill or more.

@wctje777, I tend to do other activities when that occurs like... go outside,... go to work, or .... sleep... while it's updating. I like to play the game, but it's not my life. I can keep myself occupied for 10 minutes (or 10 hours) while it's updating.

I played for 4yrs straight, then off and on for another year...and i think ive finally quit.....got sick of only doing IE stuff, nobody wanted to do missions, the bread and butter of this MMO. Now ROUGE? I might come back and see what this is about. The most recent expansion isn't really all that interesting.
Me a vetran 5 years as well . Makeing your ownmisions is great . I am waiting for higher lvl then 50 . Water misions were you can be in under the water...could use like water zones.
also be great on teh hero side to control animals. On teh villian side you can have thugs/ zombies/robots. loe teh game just got my 57 month vetran badge .
I'm a five year vet..not stop. I love the game, it is very team oriented. However I really wish there were other missions besides just grinding through killing baddies, and clicking "glowies". That is essentially the only tasks required to complete just about every mission. Be that as it may I haven't let my subscription lapse in 5 years.
One thing nice about city of heroes that is already lacking in Champions even before it's released is that they have heroes *and* villains playable, whereas I'm led to believe Champions only has heroes playable. This new expansion is only going to accentuate this distinction, and help distance CoH from its new competition while still presenting itself as a good alternative.

I still play this game and it was my first MMO and still my favorite. I hear alot of people say the servers are dead but I don't think that's true. I think it's just perception. The game is mostly instanced (as oppossed to open world like WoW) so while there may be alot of people on, you may not see them all because they're in private instances. I never see the more main zones (Talos, Atlas, RWZ, Steel canyon, any of the villain zones) very empty. Theres usually alot around. Atlas is always busy
I doubt they will. They might add in a way to make your character stronger (like IO's do) but I don't think they will ever raise the level cap. It's really not needed.
It's $14.95 for one month with reduction in price per month if you sigh up for longer periods of time. In my own humble opinion it is well worth it, CoX=greatest game ever
Yeah It's pretty damn fun, I've played the 14 day trial, and i'm n love... It's $15 a month.. but worth.. try the trial, just to see if u like it... dn't waster ur money on sumthing that you might not like...
I loved the city of heroes and the villains but now there is a third one and we can only imagine what i will be like. I was also on the beta for the first 2! =P
Quit the game for 3 years came back and finally leveled char up to get in worlds that blew my mind. Too bad they dont let you see these areas a little bit at lower levels to keep you interested. Now I know why so many capped players still play. The high level areas and mobs are the best ever in any game.
When they first came out there were many ppl on everyday, it was a fun game, people played just to pay, there was no PvP back then, but hundreds of thousands of ppl were on and we all had fun just playing. Now you can hardly find a team or a good guild, hamidon is nearly invincible, everyone just wants to get PL'd to 50 asap to pvp or PL more, the devs ruined classes by tryin to stop PL's...a great game ruined

DR. Aeon has defeated all heroes and villains installing the MA, the most deadly plan: every day more and more heroes get dumb with the convenience of the tool.
Many beginners do not even leave Atlas, limiting itself only to a restricted area without ever knowing the world, alienating to fight imaginary enemies and ignoring the real. In contrast, a wide range of veterans depart for other works to escape the lack of time, will face the Hamidon, break the ass of Romulus traveling to the past or even kick the ass of aliens in RWZ extension, again ignoring the villains of the city. That when these veterans leave the game by feel discouraged...
ok, i got the trial, but it's extremely slow and keeps on freezing, so is there any thing that can put more memory on my computer, or store this huge coh file?!
yeah, i got it at night, and went to bed, and the next day it was downloaded, it takes a long time!, let me know if it's just me or if it freezes or is real slow for you
yes there are lots of updates and patches. but for me it took only 1h, but I downloaded it from cd, if you download it from internet it could easily take longer than that 1h, it´s all up to your internet connection

meh, iv played WoW for a few years now, and i finaly got my CoH/CoV trial to work. its annoying as hell to have that "click here to buy full game" in your face the entire time, but CoH is alot more indepth, more custom to your needs. it looks fantastic on full graphics, and if i were to play it again id play it on full definately, but my comps shitty and i gota play on safe mode. so yea id say its a good game, id definately suggest it from the first 20minutes i put into it
there is a big controversy over this whole WoW and CoH deal. I will say that I have previously played Wow for about 2 years until this past year when I had tried the free trial on CoH. It was a bit slow at first (just like WoW), but then I realized that I would rather play this. I am not downing WoW, but CoH has much better graphics, unlimited customization, almot more power options, etc. They are both good games. Just one is a bit newer.
The monthly pay is deffinitly worth it and if you think it has any similarities to WoW your mistaken the mission system and customization is flawless and if I had to choose between one or the other keep in mind I played both I would deffinitly choose CoH the lower max level doesn't effect gameplay cause late game is probably the most fun.

Obviously (by my name) I play CoH. Been playing close to 3 yrs and I'm starting to see what some 5 yr vets are saying. I took some time off the game cuz... well,..it's become boring. It still follows the usual suspects of gaming: Go Here, Collect That, Kill This Person and Rescue Whoever. And you do this with recycled powers. I understand it takes a LOT of time to make a NEW power set and all, but come on. Enough of the recycling..(i'm aware we're getting 2 NEW power sets I'm just saying).

Honestly, this is by far my favorite MMO so far, I really can't wait until this expansion hits. :D The amount of content they've added in freebie patches alone is outrageous. Obviously they can only afford to do it because of the character costume packs but still :P $20 for the game, a month's time, and 2 boosters? Almost makes me wish I was just coming to the game.

I REALLY wish people would quit saying this game is dead and that LFT hard.
(1) With the ability to HIDE yourself from searches, this makes the zones appear to be empty.
(2) Keep in mind what sever you're playing on. If you like teaming, DON'T play on a least/lower populated server.
(3) Remember "Time Zones" what's 3:00 P.M to YOU, is 3:00 A.M. to someone else.

They're like, freaking everywhere, you're out of luck if you wanna play champions with a time card though lol.

@megamcgee. Victory is a good pop server. But everyone knows that Freedom (Freedumb) is THE server of CoH. I know a few players who had to LEAVE Dumb cuz of all the lag from too many players.
And with the free limited transfer tickets Im reading (on PinnBadges) that more and more players are transfering to Dumb.

Hehe yeah I'm already in Freedom =D Yeah I never saw anyone on Victory, wait no that's not true, I saw a few in the starting area and one guy flying off in the distance. I've never seen a server above a light load though! I'm enjoying Freedom and being able to pug and play missions whenever, unlike, say wow, we're I mostly soloed.

Who are you on VIctory? I'm @Darth Cthulhu (Scarlet Titan is my main). I just moved all my characters over to Virtue. High population, really easy to pug, and not as many noobs as Freedom.
@ClarenceZ also moved over there.

Freedom is definitely populated. Virtue is also quite populated. With roleplayers.

@CoHScrapper dude no..i played this game when it wa sgood..i've quit because it's bad..THE GAME IS DEAD LIVE WITH IT the game was good i12...when pvp was good..when iy was fun posi fucked up pvp and u lost half ur players there nerfed some of farming lost ur farmers there...then had ae and all ur hardcore pve nerds complained and left now only people that are left are there for friends and the fact that they think they have spent too much money into the game...if they were to revert it back i12!

(1) Keep in mind how long ago te comment was made. Mind has changed since then.
(2) I absolutely agree 100%. Heaven forbid the Devs get blamed for anything. And I get/understand creating new powers takes time, but damn, enough of the recycled powersets. And lvl 50 mishes... good luck when you've done'em all (like I have) All I can get is scanner mishes or Boros. Did all my contact arcs so I can't get new ones.

I have a global friend (RL firend) who keeps gave me shit cuz I suggest for new things. And I say how much the game is boring.
His reply: "That's cuz you keep playing scrappers. Dude, play a different fucking powerset!"
My reply: "Yeah, then I'll *still* get bored but with a *NEW* powerset wasting a character slot. Good idea."
He really didn't like my suggestion about WW should've had a price cap BEFORE going live. Like not being able to buy/sell items for more than X amount.

I agree with the WW price cap before launch. Go ahead and try buying any type of Kinetic Combat, Mako's Bite, Touch Of Death, Crushing Impact, or Luck of the Gambler +global recharge for 50 mill... not gonna happen.
I remember when I 1st started, didn't have the cash, but they went for 40 - 60 mill (sometimes 80 mill). Problem is: some retards run their SG/VGs like a company and treat WW like a RL stock market rasing prices to 100 mill or more.

@wctje777, I tend to do other activities when that occurs like... go outside,... go to work, or .... sleep... while it's updating. I like to play the game, but it's not my life. I can keep myself occupied for 10 minutes (or 10 hours) while it's updating.

Are people still playing this game? I played for 4yrs straight, then off and on for another year...and i think ive finally quit.....got sick of only doing IE stuff, nobody wanted to do missions, the bread and butter of this MMO. Now ROUGE? I might come back and see what this is about. The most recent expansion isn't really all that interesting.

Me a vetran 5 years as well . Makeing your ownmisions is great . I am waiting for higher lvl then 50 . Water misions were you can be in under the water...could use like water zones.
also be great on teh hero side to control animals. On teh villian side you can have thugs/ zombies/robots. loe teh game just got my 57 month vetran badge .

I'm a five year vet..not stop. I love the game, it is very team oriented. However I really wish there were other missions besides just grinding through killing baddies, and clicking "glowies". That is essentially the only tasks required to complete just about every mission. Be that as it may I haven't let my subscription lapse in 5 years.

One thing nice about city of heroes that is already lacking in Champions even before it's released is that they have heroes *and* villains playable, whereas I'm led to believe Champions only has heroes playable. This new expansion is only going to accentuate this distinction, and help distance CoH from its new competition while still presenting itself as a good alternative.

champions has great costume creation and power creation, but besides that it is very linear, has no variety, and will not live up to CoX.

@someguy9111991 i played champions and i stopped playing because it got boring, yes i was gold but still...when you recreate a new character you just do the same missions...you get tired of it.. at least on cov you have choice to do villain mission/hero. whatever...

I still play this game and it was my first MMO and still my favorite. I hear alot of people say the servers are dead but I don't think that's true. I think it's just perception. The game is mostly instanced (as oppossed to open world like WoW) so while there may be alot of people on, you may not see them all because they're in private instances. I never see the more main zones (Talos, Atlas, RWZ, Steel canyon, any of the villain zones) very empty. Theres usually alot around. Atlas is always busy

I doubt they will. They might add in a way to make your character stronger (like IO's do) but I don't think they will ever raise the level cap. It's really not needed.

It's $14.95 for one month with reduction in price per month if you sigh up for longer periods of time. In my own humble opinion it is well worth it, CoX=greatest game ever

Quit the game for 3 years came back and finally leveled char up to get in worlds that blew my mind. Too bad they dont let you see these areas a little bit at lower levels to keep you interested. Now I know why so many capped players still play. The high level areas and mobs are the best ever in any game.

I played this game since beta, i just quit =(.
I miss it...but i miss the old CoH/CoV
When they first came out there were many ppl on everyday, it was a fun game, people played just to pay, there was no PvP back then, but hundreds of thousands of ppl were on and we all had fun just playing. Now you can hardly find a team or a good guild, hamidon is nearly invincible, everyone just wants to get PL'd to 50 asap to pvp or PL more, the devs ruined classes by tryin to stop PL's...a great game ruined

Many beginners do not even leave Atlas, limiting itself only to a restricted area without ever knowing the world, alienating to fight imaginary enemies and ignoring the real. In contrast, a wide range of veterans depart for other works to escape the lack of time, will face the Hamidon, break the ass of Romulus traveling to the past or even kick the ass of aliens in RWZ extension, again ignoring the villains of the city. That when these veterans leave the game by feel discouraged...

No, the game will still work since the trial client is the full game. Just log in to the account like you normally do.

yes there are lots of updates and patches. but for me it took only 1h, but I downloaded it from cd, if you download it from internet it could easily take longer than that 1h, it´s all up to your internet connection

meh, iv played WoW for a few years now, and i finaly got my CoH/CoV trial to work. its annoying as hell to have that "click here to buy full game" in your face the entire time, but CoH is alot more indepth, more custom to your needs. it looks fantastic on full graphics, and if i were to play it again id play it on full definately, but my comps shitty and i gota play on safe mode. so yea id say its a good game, id definately suggest it from the first 20minutes i put into it

there is a big controversy over this whole WoW and CoH deal. I will say that I have previously played Wow for about 2 years until this past year when I had tried the free trial on CoH. It was a bit slow at first (just like WoW), but then I realized that I would rather play this. I am not downing WoW, but CoH has much better graphics, unlimited customization, almot more power options, etc. They are both good games. Just one is a bit newer.

The monthly pay is deffinitly worth it and if you think it has any similarities to WoW your mistaken the mission system and customization is flawless and if I had to choose between one or the other keep in mind I played both I would deffinitly choose CoH the lower max level doesn't effect gameplay cause late game is probably the most fun.
