Firstly, Purans are not Vedas and are remotely Vedic. Strictly speaking, Vedic Scriptures include Vedas, Upanishads and Sutras. Itihas and Purans are Smritis, ie dealing with myths and lore.
Secondly, all Purans were historically written from 500-600 AD onwards..People are often misled into believing that Purans are 5000 years old!! Bhavishya Puran was written around 11th-12th Century and reedited around 19th Century. So there is no question of any prophecy...It was just recounting history..
