Why is this series not more popular?

Because Miki is "of age" and would actually be "legal" if she hooked up with any of the guys who like her. =P Also in Japan [and Brazil mind You--where I am from and live], 18 is the legal drinking age. [I'm 19.]

The more popular anime like Akazukin Chacha/Red Riding Hood Chacha include a Heroine who is like 8--and still gets drunk.

If the heroine IS "of age" she'd better be arm candy [like Misa fom Death Note] or she can't be the main character. =P

But then it happened again.

I thought the fighting was funny.

But then it happened again.

And again.

And again.

And again.

This show could have lasted 2 episodes. I had hoped for even a bit of character development, alas.

To mi this series is like a cross between "School Rumble" and Ranma 1/2!=3

It's like a slapstick comedy but if you look for more than just "action" and "fighting" there is an allegory behind each episode that is more than "the same thing."

You don't see more because you're not looking^_^

You seem to think that there was some deep hidden message in all the episodes - welp, they weren't deep, they were quite obvious, and they were overdone cliches that you can find in dozens of shows.

If you like this form of slapstick, I would highly recommend Gintama - if, after you finish, you still like this anime, and think it had any form of quality, then I cede, because the flaws are quite glaringly obvious.

There is a great deal of allegory in this series. For example, Miki going over to her "Enemies" and finding out "The food is good!" and learns her jealousy is unfounded.Got the typical "Stalker" who always wants to fight [Nya!!]

I suppose the concepts may be hard for some guys to grasp,but I see it all clear as day.=)

[I am honestly the same way with my mom so perhaps taht's why I can relate to this point in this series.] And Miki's friend...

In addition, you have Megumi who is the allegorical "Pretty girl" who "feels plastic" and Miki [who is more like mi or Haruhi or Tenma from School Rumble] who is pretty but not quite "fashion model quality" but makes up for it with personality and determination.

Gintama sounds interesting and all hon, but think about this...

And yup! ^_^ "School Rumble" is a bit more serious than this one is with a few more things more random but it all kinda "fits" really really REALLY well together and the allegory in the series is just AMAZING... but you LAUGH all the way! =D

Think the romance of "Ai Yori Aoishi" the 'student-affair' of "Azu Manga Diaoh" meets the utter randomness of "Excel Saga!" =DDD
