  • guga eh fodaaa

  • Kuerten became the first South American to finish the year as World No. 1 in the history of the ATP rankings (since 1973). It was a close contest with Marat Safin at the year's last event, the Tennis Masters Cup in Portugal, with one loss meaning that Safin would have been No. 1. In order to finish the year as the world No. 1 player, Kuerten did what many critics HAD DEEMENED IMPOSSIBLE for him to do: beat Pete Sampras & Andre Agassi in back-to-back matches on an indoor hard court. GUGA DID IT!!

  • @londonmarcos I don't know what Marat was playing at during this tournament, he played so poorly, like he did in all TMC's, really. He didn't bring any of his form from Paris, that's for sure. Kuerten played one hell of a tournament and defied the odds.

  • SAMPRAS: MOST BEAUTIFUL 1ST SERVE EVER !

  • Yeah...Guga is just another player...that's why he beat federer 3x0 at Rolang Garros with a busted hip...and federer was already n.1 if i am not mistaken...just look ate the guys playing back then...Federer would not have half the GS titles he has now if he had played against these guys on their prime...todays top10 sux...just 3 good players...Federer, Nadal, Djokovic...no wonder these first two have so many titles...no competition...

  • cool story bro

  • @felipuc26 yes

  • 10 years ago......... #Number1

  • 10 years!!!

  • guga seems twichy in this match, especially when he serves

  • 5:44 ME DA ARREPIOS!!!

  • 5:44 makes me have goosebumps

  • pete sampras has a BAD Backhand !!! HIs 14 GS were all bcoz of his serve and Forehand!

  • PETE SAMPRAS ROCKS!!!!!!

  • Unbelievable shots~~, one of the greatest players ever

  • Nadal is at 8 GS title now. If he is healthy for the next 3-4 yrs i say he does has a chance to get closer to federer's GS total. That's if 16 was the last for him. I still think federer probably has like 1 more left in him. Alot of the young gunz can beat him now. Federer is still federer. I just think competition is better than when he dominated it from 2003-07.

  • @Thutmosis7 obviously your opinions are your opinions, and i respect that, but I do feel that feds level has droped signifcantly since the beginning of 07. The only person who has come close to beating him on a consistent basis is nadal. Its been only the majors that have mattered to him, even from 2006 onwards. So you may say more competition, but the high level of tennis he has played in those years have dropped, quite alot....

  • @Thutmosis7 You have to bear in mind that it is a different generation of player, and they are younger, so with him being older and his level dropping, they are of course going to challenge him, but even so they struggle to beat an older player at the highest level. How would djockovic or murray, or even del po compete with the fed of 05 or 06. It took the supreme talent of safin to beat federer at his best, and I think we can agree that he has more talant than those guys...

  • @Thutmosis7 but like I said, im not disregarding your views

  • @Thutmosis7 the more federer loses, the more competition there is and thats what people will say, the more he wins the less competition. its an argument that has two sides and its the reason why many critics chose not to mention it becasue the counter argument to it is the same argument, bear in mind 5 of nadals slams came from 05-08, a time when federer had mono. No excuses, but an inability to play is just that and if you step onto the court, your fit enough....

  • @Thutmosis7 so nadals gap last year was becasue he played such a brutal game that he neeed time off, federer never took that time. I think nadal can get 12+ slams, but that is contingent on his body. If he gets injured, it is not because he i unlucky, it is becasue his amazing game takes such a toll on the body......

  • @Thutmosis7 Nadal at his best, plays unbelievable tennis, but he is still beatable by the big hitters e.g blake, tsonga, soderling, on a hard court. fed at his best in Pat Cash's words, people think is unbeatable, much like sampras. its a game that not matter how many balls you get back into play these two would just destroy, no matter who it is against, bearing in mind this so called competition from del potro took a major boost from fed losing his cool at the open, so its very subjective

  • @Jamus182 What have tsonga done lately against nadal? Since the upset in AO08 semis, nadal i think won like 6 time against him. Soderling beated nadal when he was injured. The same goes for delpo and the rest. When injurefree and healthy, Nadal is a beast. Not even federer at his best can beat him. Nadal always beat federer at his best. Federer rarely beat nadal at his best. Even his two wins against nadal on clay, came during the time nadal was injured.

  • @Thutmosis7 Tsonga was just an example of how when nadal is playing great tennis, he still gets overwhlemed by big hitters, i wasnt refering to how much tsonga beats him, i was on about the style of play that beats nadal. Your tennis knowledge is pretty shallow when you think that federer at his best cannot beat nadal. And what a suprise you bang on about how nadal lost when he was injured. Like I said before, you obvioulsy have never played tennis to a decent enough level to understand ......

  • @Thutmosis7 the technical aspects of the game. Saying nadal always beats federer at his best is a stupid statement because the fairest surface is a hard court, and they have never played a slam on a hardcourt at their bests. The reason Sampras has the advantage over agassi becasue he is the one throwing the ball in the air and deciding where it is going to go, the same way that fed is the ultimate attacker, and nadal the ultimate defender, at their best on a hard court fed wins 80% of the time

  • @Thutmosis7 but you'll never accept that, cos like i said, your tennis knowledge and technical ability is completely lacking, and so biased it doesnt warrent a proper response. Fed is my favorite player, but I dont want people thinking that I just support him and thats is, I watch tennis every chance I get and love everything about the game. But your shity argumetns make me appear as, in your words a 'fedtard' which im not, when it is completely obvious, that your the nadal equivalent.....

  • @Thutmosis7 get a proper clue about tennis and stop saying the only reason nadal loses because he is injured. If he cant rely on his ball striking, and has to put his body through hell to even compete at the level federer set, then he gets injured, simple fact.

To let you know, i dont think im gonna reply to anymore of your comments, cos they are just the same thing and have nothing behind them, they are just opinions and im gonna let you have them cos you'll never appreciate what fed has...

  • @Thutmosis7... done. Only if you really rile me up will i reply, but people like you are not worth the time becasue your only every gonna reply with the same thing. So respectfully...I say good bye, I'm sure your a good guy, so dont take it personal, when you love a sport and a player/team i understand the passion, but im not gonna get in to a massive utube debat over the same thing like injuries or competition, it lacks depth and I only want a tennis debate, not some guys love for another

  • @Thutmosis7 That is too subjective to say. I mean just because Federer is not at his peak anymore and other players have been able to win slams doesn't make 2008-now "harder competition." I mean sure it can be arguable that many of Federer's contemporaries back when he was in his prime played right into Federer's hands, but he was also clearly in his prime, just as Nadal has been for the past few years when he is legitimately not injured. So it could be a combination of things.

  • @AllGenreMusic U right could be a combination of many things. I just think alot of the playas don't fear his forehand like they use to. Plus Federer usually dictate the game when he is playing against them. Alot of the playas have improve alot since. Federer is still federer, competition for the past couple of yrs are much better than it was during the stretch when federer was winning.

  • justo for end of this discussion

    atp ranking 2000:

Kuerten, Safin, Sampras, Norman, Kafelnikov, Agassi, Hewitt, Corretja, Enqvist, Henmann,

    atp ranking 2010:

Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Murray, Davydenko, Del Potro, Soderling, Rodick, Verdasco, Tsonga.

Comparing the top ten of these 2 "eras", I think that 90's and begining of 2000's had the best players of all time.

    .

  • 2000: Sampras was on the brink of retirement, Norman was a 1-season shooter, Hewitt was still a toddler, Corrretja/Enqvist/Henman who? I do agree with Safin, Kuerten, Kafelnikov and Agassi tho.

2010: Federer, Nadal (probably the biggest namest you can get in 1 ranking - both past their primes and still winning majors), Djokovic,Del Potro, Roddick Slam winners, Davydenko always there, Murray will win a slam 1 day for sure, the Giant Killer Soderling and Verdasco/Tsonga

    I'd say it's pretty even.

  • I just meant the top 10 but that in the 90's had the best players like the top 10 and the others: Todd Martin, Michael Chang, Phillipousis, Ruzedski, Rafter, Moyá, Ríos, Pioline etc.

Corretja was a great player on clay surface. Enqvist and Henmann were players that gave many troubles for the others.

Nowadays we have 2 tops and they could rivalize against the 90's players: Federer and Nadal. Roddick just has good services and Djokovic mixes good and bad moments.

  • Tennis evolves, naturally so even if the competition is miserable (I don't know how you can prove that it is anyway..) an average top 10 player in, say, 2050 will be better than an average top 10 player in the 90's. I don't know in which areas are guys like Rusedski, Rafter, Moya, Chang better than Djokovic, Murray, Del Potro or Roddick. There's will be even more competition in the future (I don't a see a dominant force) but I'd say that the one in the 90's is comparable to the one nowadays.

  • @89Pleasek I meant that the 90's had best players outside the top 10. Nowadays is so hard to see the top 10 losing for the others. The level is so weak, that Thomas Belucci from Brazil is a horrbile player and he's at top 30th. Can you see the essence?

Nadal and Federer just don't have rivals.

Del Potro, Djokovic etc are good players but they can't rivalize against Roger and Rafael, unfortunately.

  • Look at this Fed fan ranting. Guga was possibly the biggest talent of his generation with the exception of Safin. If he and Marat weren't plagued by injury, we probably would have seen Fed still fighting to break the record. Fed had a piss easy generation to contend with. He is the definitely one of the greatest I've ever seen, but playing against Sampras and Kuerten would definitely have been a tougher job than say.... Roddick.

  • Learn that one-handed backhand sampras...

  • Pete did OK, he only won 14 majors. Had the best running forehand, second serve, and overhead in the history of the game.

  • Guga won 3 RG, and 1 Titanic Masters Cup, with wins over both Sampras and Agassi back-to-back, SF and Finals.. Just anohter player? Give me a break!

  • when you see this level of tennis it just emphesize the greatness of Federer. Sampras has serve and volly. Guga is just another player. with the level that Federer plays now he would won 30 slams back than. He much better than the old players.

Mabe someday someone will pass Federer with 20 slams, win more tornaments. But no one will ever play like Roger. he is so uniqe.

  • Kuerten won 3 RG, 1 MC and was ranked world number 1 for almost an year and you say that he's JUST ANOTHER PLAYER? Federer is indeed the greatest to ever play the game, but you don't have the right to call such a great personality Kuerten is just another player. He's the greatest latin-american player ever and deserves respect.

  • @Henrii01 I think federer is the best of his era. But certainly not the greatest ever to play. Because he is the king of slam, don't make him the greatest ever. What he only won 62 titles. Compare that to connor 109? Come on he won most of his slam when the era was the weakest from 02-07. Federer is the best in this era, but not the greatest.

  • @Thutmosis7 Ivanisevic, Rusedski, Chang, Courier, Korda, Krajicek, becker, and rafter.

Obviously this is speculation, but I doubt they would be able to trouble federer enough to call it a rivalry. These guys were good, but sampras had the wood on pretty much all of them, so against federer on the slower courts?? but thats just my speculative view

  • @Jamus182 rafter is 3 - 0 against federer

  • @Thutmosis7 if im not wrong, rafter played federer at his first apearence in a slam at the FO in 1999, federer was at his absolute best from end of 03 to the beginning of 07. head to heads mean very little when you look at the statistic, they tell you nothing about time form and surface. But your a nadal fan arent you? so I believe that to you h2h are everything

  • @Jamus182 Head2Head is very important in tennis. That's why Federer dominate others, because he intimidate them. What would you say about roger's record against roddick? Statistic so far show rafa with a slightly better winning percentage than federer. Had it not been for that stretch from 2004-07 roger statistic would of been way lower than nadal. From 2002-07 that's the weakest part of tennis era.

  • @Thutmosis7 and the other players in that era, with respect, but if I had a choice between those and federer in a slam final, I take federer every single time. 04-07 alot of people believe that was the highest tennis level by one player. John macnroe has often refered to it the four greatest years in terms of a player ever, never once talking about the 'weak era', becasue he understands what federer did, the way he did it, and who he did it against would have worked against anyone.....

  • @Thutmosis7 (adjust slightly for possible finals against sampras on a fast grass court) just to say I apologise for replying to a fed comment on a sampras vid. If you wanna cary on the convo on a fed or nadal vid let me know becasue I like the debate, just its better to respect the guys in the vid :) and the people watching

  • @Jamus182 What do you think about your guy federer? Do you think it's over for him or not. I think he still has like 2 yrs left in him.

  • @Thutmosis7 I don't think he'll be world number one again. He says that he does take the other tounaments seriously. but he obviously doesn't. With the sucess nadal will always have in the clay court season, it means fed will have to win at least 3 or all 4 slams a year, which almost certainly isnt gonna happen again. For me its a shame, becasue it could remain 1 week behind the sampras record. He's got loads of points to defend during the US HC swing with quarters Mon/Tor, win Cinci and FinalUS

  • @Thutmosis7 so depending on how everyone else does he could drop to 4 (in tennis 3 or 4 is no different) but its not nice to see. For me the bar was set, and the decline was inevitable. I just wish he would get with the times, I know he likes his set up, but nadal changed his strings, why cant he? Why not do a possible raquet change because there is alot of speculation that he uses the pro staff, but just paints the frame. I think he's too stuborn to make big changes to his game

  • @Thutmosis7 but how do you tell him he needs to? Since early 2007, there has been very few federer matches that have been easy to watch for me in terms of my heart :)? like the 07 wimby and us finals, just too many unforced errors. IMO, it was almost, his talent faded 1 or 2%, so he couldn't hit the rediculous shots he use to, so he would have to rely on his match play, which isn't good....

  • @Thutmosis7 obviously I think he can win a couple more majors, but he has other prioroties, which is good for the guy, but a shame for his fans. Some will say its just a blip, but I don't think it is. Thats why I'm not gonna stress, because I never thought he would win after the second set of his first match. After nadals performence at the FO I always felt he was the true favorite. Like I said before, everyone agrees he set the ultimate standard in tennis, so this was always gonna happen...

  • @Thutmosis7 I'm not so deluded to think he will be number one every week of the year again, but it stick by him every point, and I will still want him to win every point he plays (I take a line from what virginia wade said about roger, cos she loves the guy). hopefully he'll equal sampras, but on a true grass court petes game was perfect so maybe its a record that should not be beaten. Who knows???? I apologise for the long reply. but I could type for hours about every thing wrong with feds game

  • @Jamus182 Yes pete was unbelievable. Some people say he has the second best serve or the best. I don't what they truly agree on, i wish they made up their mind. Impressive win today by nadal. After the match with murray, no doubt that convince me nadal would win it all. Berd did play well, nadal just play the important points better. Some people say could be nerves on berd side. I say it could be both nerve and nadal wasn't going to allow berd to play his game. He take him out early.

  • @Thutmosis7 (last thing, I promise) I do think the olympics will be the barometer. If he wins or makes the finals in 2012, he will carry on for another year to three, should his body, particularly his back, hold out, if not, a couple more slams tops. But I love the guy, and tennis as well, its my fave sport in the world, so only time will tell. I just want tennis to get as much popularity as possible and generally that only happens when the sport poduces those great champions

  • @Henrii01 you are completely 100% right. guga was incredible.

  • @Henrii01i agree completely with you, not only that guga has a winning h2h against federer 2-1, and he beat federer in RG in 2004 when federer was in his prime, some young kids who just started watching tennis in the last couple of years only know federer, they just dont know how great sampras, guga, becker, edberg lendl, courier etc and other great players of the past were

  • @nizzam1 true guga has a 2-1 h2h record but 04 cant be considered as a year dat fed was in his prime he had only one slam at the time but no dispute guga is one of the all time great with dat beautiful single-handed backhand and those drop shots

  • @Henrii01 vilas maybe considered better 45 clay court titles

  • @Henrii01 dont worry about what he said, very soon federer wont be the greatest ever anymore lolll karma is a bitch.

  • dude you're insane to call guga "just another player". go watch that time he beat federer in RG, fed certainly learnt something that day. im not sayin hes better than fed, but hes one of the great players. actually in that time there were more great players around i think.

  • Best backhand ever!!!!!!!!!

Guga, Brazil will love you forever.

You´re the greatest athlete that was born here!

    Thank you very much, man!

  • @vagflu07 I thought Pele was considered Brazil's greatest athlete, followed by Anderson Silva.

  • lol anderson silva?

  • Best pound for pound MMA fighter.

  • gustavo unbeleivably ugly dickhead

  • @200pounder Please tell me you are a woman..

  • Guga and Davydenko are proof that you don't need muscles to win tennis matches

  • Sampras had to deal with the best in HISTORY of tennis. Don`t try to say that Del Potro or any top 10 will write their names in history like Sampras` opponents did. Boris Becker, Guga Kuerten, Andre Agassi, etc etc etc...

  • But you've also to consider that Federer had to face the likes of Hewitt (2 GS) and Safin (2 GS). He has a record of 8-2 against Agassi.

Now, when you compare some rivals Federer has now, I've no doubts that Del Potro will win more GS the way he's playing. He'll eventually surprass Kuerten's GS record. Nadal (6 GS) will surely surprass the likes of Agassi and Becker.

And I also suspect that these guys, Djokovic (1 GS), Roddick (1 GS) and Murray will improve their records and became legends.

  • Too early to say that Del Potro won't be better than Becker or Kuerten. He could or he cannot, the dude's 21. Looking at rankings at the end of 1999, Sampras had 12 Slams, Agassi had 5 (had 3 Slams till the 1999 French Open! Who would predict that a post 29-year old Agassi was yet to play his best?), Kuerten had 1, Hewitt and Safin had 0. We'll know how good a player was once he retires.

  • querten looks like a bitch, this skinny wierdo is no athlete what so ever

  • @200pounder I wonder how a guy that is not an athlete can be the world's number 1 for 43 weeks? U must be american, and ur definiton of an athlete must be those fat linebackers that play football!

  • Federer had an easy time in his carreer... Now, since 2008 he had some competition.

Sampras always had great tenist players ahead. Federer lost an exhibition match to Sampras, after Sampras was 6 years retired!

    Sampras is better.

Nice match for GUGA, by the way...

  • @brunobonner Areyou Craazzy???? tennis level is so much higher now... federer has to cope with players serving at 250 mph with forehands way stronger then it was ten years ago, of course raquets are better, but new players constantly get bettter then the generation before, Federer is better then sampras but there will be someone better then federer in the future

  • 250mph??

Tennis isn`t just power or speed... the technique is so important! And the year or the generation doesn`t specify that! Sampras had an unique technique with almost no mistakes in the very final moments of the game. I can bet you that Sampras would put up a competition with Federer that no actual player does, besides Nadal.

  • @200pounder tennis level isnt higher now. federer is awesome and great to watch but lacks any real opponents..nadal isnt a legend and yet beats him more than 50% of the time. Sampras had agassi safin , kuerten and becker, rafter etc..take just one of those names away and he would have won 3 more slams at least. I have actually watched them both live at wimbledon over the years and know sampras would beat him if both met in their primes. federer playing style is prettier though!

  • @hardyhardhor with respect my friend, you can't 'know' sampras would beat federer if both were in their primes, we won't include clay, but on any hard court, id give federer the edge, but on the older faster grass courts sampras would have a slight advantage. If you took out someone like becker for instance, i don't think sampras would have won more slams.....

  • @hardyhardhor .......I do understand that there were great players in the sampras era, but many relied on the faster surfaces which emphisised those ridiculous serves they have, thats why the serve and volley game has died out. Someone like rafter would not be able to compete the same way at this time in tennis......

  • Sampras on fast surfaces in Slams like the US Open and Wimbledon was as dominant as Federer ever was, he just wasn't as consistant as Federer. Sampras NEVER lost to guys like Becker, Agassi, Chang or Kafelnikov there.

You see how easily I can change the HUGE competition to a WEAK one? It's still not the point, both Sampras and Federer are super players that's why they dominant, I give a slight edge to Fed tho for the consistancy but a Sampras-Federer match in their primes would be a cracker.

  • @Jamus182 i think you might be surprised how good a rafter would be in this era....he in particular is ruthless in his assualt and can make lesser players tremble in fear also his quick hands and awsome volleys would in my book, at least, put him above nadal in this era. Rafter also was 3-0 against federer before rafter retired....I think the best way to beat federer is to serve volley becuase he and nadal take such big swings they wont like it after 2 sets

  • @mathiyus The serve and volley game in this era, by era I mean on the slow courts would not work too well. I know karlovic doesn't have half the talent of rafter, but I wold say that is the most dificult serve to return, probably ever, and both guys have great records against him. the serve and volley thing is not an affective way to play against federer. look at lopez at the us open 2007, serving 120 2nd serves and was still unable take fed to five, but thats just my opinion

  • @hardyhardhor ......The reason I rate federer, and sampras for that matter, so much is that I feel you could place them in any era, with any raquet technology, and they'd dominate, unlike a nadal, who the incredible athlete that he is, is aided greatly by slower courts, heavier balls and better strings (I finish on a federer and sampras good note to show my respect for sampras so you dont think im dissing him :))

  • i really like sampras but is it just me or does it seem as if his volleys arent really that good? i mean not just this match but alot of matches ive seen him in he really just wins points off his huge serve and the easy volley put aways

  • For me one of the best in history...wins in one tournment sampras and agassi, isn't for one kid

  • Guga was amazing... unfortunatelly he has some problems in his hip and surgeries and had to end his carreer too early.. miss him

  • RG 2004: Guga 3 x0 Federer!

    Bye!

  • Fed is only better than Sampras in certain catagories.

  • yeh like every category except serve & volley?

  • One of Guga's greatest victories.Gosto muito o brasil!!!!!(FRA)

  • guga foi o cara!!

  • I think that in Master Cup Sampras holds a pretty damn good career record: in 10 editions he got 5 wins, 1 final and 4 semifinals lol

  • "Somehow Guga found the angle!"

    haha, dá-lhe Guga!

  • Guga was awesome. He, Pioline and Gasquet have the most beautiful back hands that I have seen.

  • You missed Tommy Haas. Haven't you seen today's game? His backhand is amazing.

  • Was not able to see him play in Halle. But his back hand is also pretty sweet now that I think of it.

  • Roger Federer one-handed one is not so bad either ;)

  • Can't argue with that. His is also nice to watch.

  • except its inferior

  • I'd give it to Gasquet easily.

  • You also missed Srichapan

  • Ahhh, my adopted country's former top 10. He supposedly has been working on trying to come back. The end of this year or maybe early next year. Supposedly a wrist injury from a little over 2 years ago. I wonder if his marriage to Miss Universe 2005 might have a little bit to do with him being out so long though?

  • when guga is inspired... get out of the way

  • 5:48!!

"WOW, Somehow guga find the angle"

  • sick clutch pick up there

  • Sampras é só ir a rede, toda hora.

    Guga rula.

  • É facinho né?

    Hahahahahah!!!!!

  • 5:42 a 5:48 The Best Of game

  • I love both of them !! Sampras is a legend n kuertan is a stylish fighter

  • The style and technique of THE MAESTRO HIMSELF, SAMPRAS....!!!!

My god what a GODGIFTED tennisplayer he was..

We will never ever see anyone like him again.. I`m speachless when I think about what Sampras did on the court!!!!!.......

  • and yet he and Agassi got pwnt by Guga.

  • And yet as I recall, Sampras had a winning record over Guga of 2-1 and Agassi's was 7-4 v. Kuerten, so you might want to call 911 to help pull your foot out of your mouth.

  • So what? I'm not talking about their head-to-head history, you little dumbass. I'm talking about the only tournment where a player OWNED both Agassi and Sampras and ended the year in #1. You might want to call 911 to help pull your mouth out of Sampras' ass.

  • Did I mention one of those victories that Sampras had against Kuerten was on clay at the French Open, which was supposed to be Guga's best surface? Anyway, I'd hardly call beating Sampras in three sets (in a best of three set match) ownage.

  • Dude, you're SO wrong. All 3 matches happened in Hard Courts, not to mention Guga won the last one: 2000 Tennis Masters Cup Lisbon, Portugal; 2000 ATP Masters Series Miami FL, U.S.A.; 1999 ATP Tour World Championship Germany. I thought I was talking to an expert, not some dumbass kid who can't stop running his mouth. LMAO!

  • You're actually both fucking idiots for even engaging in a Youtube argument in the first place. You have both failed at life.

  • and then a guy called Roger FEDERER showed up...

  • Your backhand is the best of history the tennis!

  • GUGA ETERNO!

  • Kallytom, you sucks!

  • I hope U mean players like Roddick & Ferrero (poor nr 1's) They just won 1 Grande Slam each.

  • Yes i would say roddick and ferrero, the minute federer came along those two sunk!! Federer and nadal have brought consistency back, even djorvic would have been number 1 back in 2001/2002.

  • Thanks, Guga!

    Valeu, Guga!

  • Of course Sampras is one of the best players in all history. But this year, even the best player got no chances against Guga. All of you have to admit that.

Great match from both players. But in this case, Guga was really wonderful

  • KUERTEN > sampras

  • anyone who thinks guga is better than sampras must be on magic mushrooms.only federer is.

  • YOU GOT THAT RIGHT :) OK, I LOVE ALL THREE OF THEM, BUT TENNISWISE, IT'S

    1. R. FEDERER

    2. P. SAMPRAS

    3. G. KUERTEN

I LOVE ROGER... I think Kuerten looked way better with curls. They certainly are the top 3 cute tennis players (some of them ex tennis players, but whatever)

  • 1.Kuerten

    2.Sampras

    3.Tsonga

  • lol wtf

  • What was Sampras excuse for loosing the game?! A wound toe? What a looser! Guga was better than him, and he didn't adimited. GUGA = Brazil!!!

  • Of course Kuerten wasn't better, Sampras only lost because he had all the preasure. I'm not saying that Kuerten didn't deserve to win but a Pete Sampras is never going to admit anyone's better than him and for a good reason.

  • Q jogo

    isso sim eh garra

    GUGA eh brasil

  • oops, Guga was Nr one in 2000. But at the end of 2001 he was very very close to Hewitt.

  • You are crazy². Guga and Hewitt aren't overrated.

  • Hewitt is.

  • Guga was number one in 2001, he had more points then Agassi, Sampras and Safin, he did not buy those points in the supermarket. He won master tournaments on every surface and might have achieved a better record on non-clay Grand Slams, even he had not have such bad injuries.

  • 05:46 best point of all-time..

    "somehow, guga found the angle"

  • Mto bom!

  • Nossa, q saudades!

Esse cara transformou o Tenis no Brasil.

Fico emocionado, quase chorei no último ponto.

  • How did such a good player come out of Brazil?

Nobody plays tennis in Brazil. You would think that after a legend like Guga some people would follow his footsteps but no, most Brazilians would rather play soccer (football). Can you imagine how good Brazilians would be at tennis if they had some of their best athletes playing tennis?

  • That's life man. Soccer doesn't need much money on it to play. You can play it anywhere. You put two stones and there's your goal. But tennis on the other hand, you need a court, rackets, you need cash.

    That's why..

  • It's true!!! We didnt take advantage of his success that time...sadly now it's gonna take a long wait to have another guga.

  • It sucks that Guga could only play at his full potential up to around 25 years old, before his hip problem became really bad. He would've had a good chance to match Borg's record of RG titles. Anyway, he deserves to be in the hall of fame.
