does the USB have to like with nothing in it? can it be a hardrive with a lot of things in it but it has way more than 4 gbs of extra space or does it have to be a USB with nothing in it with 4 gbs or more of extra space?? help! thank you!

why do u choose to do it from terminal when u can do it with a format majigger that has a gui?

How do i know which disk to pick, I only see a Disk 0 and Disk 1 and i put my removable usb pen in... /Lost disk 0 is 232 disk 1 is 7633 which one do I choose????

@TheAe86man Make sure that your USB flash drive does not have two partitions (Windows cannot see two partitions on a flash drive but Linux can). And when you say it doesn't show your USB, do you mean it doesn't "label" your flash drive? That is normal. You will have to figure out which drive it is by the capacity. Make sure as well that any light on the drive is lit up (to indicate power going to it).
