This one statement has helped me tremendously: You need to feel that pulse in your body...if you're not feeling it consistently than what you're playing isn't going to make much sense. This is why I've been struggling with rhythm and timing. I use a metronome but I've never let it sink in. I've always blamed it on being lefty playing right handed guitars.
