@nemesissi It somewhat does. Since they're a little softer you might have to shake harder, but I don't see any reason it wouldn't work with even relatively cheap ones.
If you could somehow incorporate a cheap, easily broken motor and give it a name like GarlicSmart you could sell it on late night TV for 29.99. It's a shame we lost Billy two summers ago, it'd have been right up his alley.
I wonder if this works with plastic bowls...? :)
