I don't think being homeless is that bad, you have no bills and you have to pay no taxes, it really is the perfect way of life. See? they aren't complaining to much.

I think the homeless should offer basic services to business owners and operators and thankfully take any money given. I operate a small business and if a homeless person, let's say, offered to sweep the sidewalk, and did a good job, I'd give him $5 for maybe 30 minutes of work. Repeat that 10 times a day, and you've got yourself a living.
i was homeless for 10 years. Im going to be 25 this month and that old man with the shopping cart that s going to be when im old. I am never going to have more money that is reality.
Just my opinion, but it is better to give Food and Conversation to homeless individuals than money. If you want to give money, give to Charities for the homeless who will guarantee where that money goes instead of bad habits, which is the unfortunate reality of many homeless. Alternatively, consider giving money to people in 3rd world countries where a dollar will go a long way, and may have more impact.

People who don't help homeless must be ashamed, I am 21 but I still try to help them from what I can, even I currently don't earn much. I am not showing off to others but all I want to stay, please people trying helping others, who knows may be u or ur loved one could be in same position and by helping, u reducing them becoming in difficulty.

I remember back to the Truman days. Homelessness was not a problem in this country until Reagan became president. Since then, the problem has continued. Many of them are veterans.
Cannot really do anything truly meaningful about the homeless. A large percentage have damaged their brains through drug/alcohol abuse, they are now incapable and/or unwilling to quit. The other group that makes up a large percentage of the homeless is the mentally ill. Some of these people refuse treatment and cannot or will not take medication on a regular schedule. Rulings at both the federal and state levels make it very hard to involuntarily commit someone, for more than a few days.
If everyone here would refer to homeless people to one person that could use our help it would change America, maybe even the world. Most American people without a home are people with mental illnesses and they couldnt keep there job because of that illness. Most homeless people are homeless not because they are lazy or just want to give up. They are homeless because they need help and we should gve it to them.
What's messed up, is I'm homeless & go downtown Cincinnati sometimes- people STILL ask me for money! Even as I carry a full rucksack with stuff hangin off of it.. It's mostly the younger ghetto thugs. On the bright side, staying in the area I do I still have friends to let me crash once in a while.

We must pass this on. We are human beings, and we should act like it. It's one thing to fight to make it out on top, but it's also another thing to look below and lend out a helping hand to those who need that extra boost to get started.
is very hard getting out of being homeless - I was in that situation when I was 30, had lost everything... You are too busy finding shelter and food - the bare means of survival to be looking for work etc - who would employ you anyway.
I got somewhere to live 7 years ago - I have bought three houses in that time.

being homeless is not like being an ass.its really sad.lots of people die because of that..but some of them are just so unlucky.being a homeless doesn't necessarily mean that u are lazy,smell bad and stuff.i know lots of homeless who are going to the homeless centers and they are having showers.being a homeless is the worst possible thing ever.sleeping in cold,thinking that u can die in any moment and nobody will think of you...

This was a beautiful documentary and I am glad that I came upon it.
We must pass this on. We are human beings, and we should act like it. It's one thing to fight to make it out on top, but it's also another thing to look below and lend out a helping hand to those who need that extra boost to get started.

is very hard getting out of being homeless - I was in that situation when I was 30, had lost everything... You are too busy finding shelter and food - the bare means of survival to be looking for work etc - who would employ you anyway.
I got somewhere to live 7 years ago - I have bought three houses in that time.
luck played a big part - could have gone either way for me... Im giving beer smokes and food to the homeless this xmas, I dont care what people think it will make em happy for day

some guy got arrested for feeding the homeless at the park. It was because you weren't allowed to feed hungry people in large groups at a state park. yeah, cuz that made sense. just like how an old chinese couple took in so many abandoned children, but the gov't tried to take them away saying the couple is too old. the old man said, "if no one takes care of these children then let me do it." yes if no one is able to or wants to help why stop someone else from doin it.

I think anyone who keeps complaining should shut it because you have no clue how it is to be homeless, but neither do I. I wish I did but I don't think that they want just a home to live in, not just shelter but a place that is filled with their love and can be called their own. Oh and I almost forgot, they are not "these people" they are Ann, Gregg, Terry, Shelby. You are turning them into nouns (not everyone). And please don't get all mad at me, I'm only a 12-year-old girl speaking her mind.

Let me spread some AWARENESS people.
I am not rich or anything. In fact, I am a low income person.
These people come and beg you for money.
You give them money, just to make them feel better, you know.
They don't even say "thank you" instead they grab the money out of your hands, look at you disapprovingly and walk away in a very rude way.

i believe there are some homeless drug addicts, drunks and mentally ill folks but they are human beings. It is all of our duty to care for others whether it is the grandma next door, teenagers, homeless people or whatever. We are capable, they sometimes are not, that is why they need help. Chris

I thind the churches aren't doing enough they are waithing for the gov't to solve the problem but it takes everyone.
