@MarlonOwnsYourCake That would be a hell of a jazz band! They hired the best, most expensive studio musicians in all of Hollywood for this score, and they still had to practice the hell out it to be able to play it. The trombone line in particular was so tough that those seasoned professional musicians who were playing it would take bets on which of them would flub any particular run through. One of the most technically difficult themes in all of tv history, never mind cartoon history.
@starstarstar42 Of course it would, it's a dream jazz band! That's cool though, I like those kinds of behind the scenes stories and that trombone line is amazing.
It did not start on Saturday morning. That was when it went into syndication. It was originally aired like the Flintstones, The Jetsons, and the Simpsons---as prime-time shows.
Wednesday evening, 7pm. Almost all of the original episodes had some killing in them, and it was years before they were determined suitable for Saturday cartoons. Today, they look pretty sexist, racist, and highly influenced by cold-war mentality.
The uncultured ballsacs who stole the video sound did so for a reason. The Quest cartoon is being made into a live-action film, and they are probably going to use the trademark music.
That said, the people who did this can bathe my nutsac with their mouths.
That Indian kid in the vid looks a lot like somebody in Scooby Doo. I wonder if Hanna Barbara did that intentionally? After all, Hanna Barbara owns both Scooby-Doo and Jonny Q
How dare they disable the audio from a great classic cartoon which is better than today's garbage. Don't you just love how YouTube allows some people to post copyrighted material and others are not permitted to do so, even if there is no infringement?
For fuck's sake, it's a fifty year old cartoon WMG, it's not like the theme song being available on youtube somehow limits your non-existant profits from Jonny Quest merchandise sales. You goddamn cunts
What the F***K???? Damn WMG to the fires of hell. What kind of corporate mental midget claimed THIS audio? Heartless, soulless, bean counting bastard.

As much as I would like to blame YouTube, the real people who are to blame for the audio being missing are our dimwitted Congress members, who have permitted the media robber barons to twist our laws into pretzels and seize control of our cultural heritage. If you want to save your children's future, work to abolish "copyright".
Fuck no audio? They do no this solves absolutely nothing. There's still an original opening and closing theme (seperated) here on youtube still with audio (though the quality is shitty, FUCK) Goddammit, guys who remove audio just love causing problems.
Time Warner's copyright shit is one reason I switched my Cable from Time Warner to Verizon FiOS the VERY first day I could do so. Besides, the channel lineup is BETTER. I'd like to see the Chinese or somebody buy Time Warner out.
Dear Youtube: YOU SUCK, you suck and you suck. If I could somehow find your cars, I'd puncture the volume control on your radios so you could see what it feel like you roll-over pansie bastages.
Not disabled because they cut off the last few seconds. Theoretically so some greedy hollywood music library owner doesn't have to worry about somebody illegally using "his" music (though they neither wrote, produced, or worked on it, they simply bought the rights to it) and snap up his extra 2 cents worth of residuals. Greedy, greedy, greedy bastages.
@starstarstar42 Watched it every Saturday in the 60's and early 70's! It didn't come on until all the other cartoons had ended. It was the 'Cadillac' of 'toon!
Despite being 44 years old now, this cartoon is STILL one of the best cartoon series in the history of television. The only other series that compares is Batman TAS from the early 90's. Whatever happened to Don Messick? I give you two answers:
1. He Died in 1997 of a heart attack
2. and Frank Welker (my #1 Idol) replaced him as both Dr. Benton Quest and Bandit (The Dog)
befron2012 6 months ago
@befron2012 Messick died of a stroke. Actually, he had two. One in 1996, which forced him into retirement. THEN another in 1997, that killed him.

This was one of my favorite cartoons as a kid. Great show. Loved Hadji, and Bandit. Lots of fun. They always had a cool adventure going. Thanks.

They sure don't make 'em like this anymore. I read the only reason this was canceled after one season was the episodes were too expensive to make.
