@andreisidro It's because in Green Street he was playing a Brit from the London area, whereas in real life he's from Newcastle, which is about 6 hours north of London. They have a totally different accent up North than they do down South. I learned that when I was living over there. A lot if British folks thought his accent in Green Street was crap.

Well, all this talk about his accent...I think latterlort has got it spot on, he sounds sort of Irish in this. I've lived my whole life in the UK and this is NOT an English accent I've ever heard...nor American. He mostly sounds Irish here bizarrely or kind of like when Swedish people speak English...they come off sounding American basically though not quite, similar to here. Weird accent anyways, most people switch between the two (eg Gillian Anderson) rather than mish-mashing into this oddity.
