Reason for his decline is because he was so naturally talented, he never had a defense and the general boxing ability. Unlike Hopkins, who gets better with age, he never had speed and reflex. He was more power and smarts

I would imagine we ALL are fatter than our PRIME days . Fact is ,Tito Trinidad was one of if not THE GREATEST welterweight champion of all time. 16 title defenses w/ 15 ko's. Ruled division from 92-99, then moved up beat the 2 best at 154, then moved up again to destroy Joppy in 5 rounds. Hopkins was taken 12 rounds by Joppy. The only fights Tito has lost have been to the very greatest, two weight divisions above his prime and he never gave up or quit. Tito is the best.

Hand speed was pretty close between them but Calzaghe can keep it going for 12 rounds without a drop in pace. The result would have been the same but the fight would have been closer.

This is just the Roy Jones highlights of the fight but the people of HBO forgets that Trinidad won the entire first half of the fight clearly. In fact they were making comparisons of the fight been similar to Larry Holmes(as Felix Trinidad) vs. Muhammad Ali(as Roy Jones). Until the knockdown in round 7 the fight was so one sided that Trinidad only loose by four points in two of the scorecards which only reflects the two 10-8 rounds for Roy in which Trinidad was knock down.
