  • Fear of hell may be sufficient to be a better person, but why should it be necessary?

  • I believe in a source of the energy within us all and I believe in an after life but religion man it's mostly all bollox for example witch version of the bible does this dude believe in there are 26 version of the bible what shit haha

  • jeff is floating head lololololol

  • Since humans stepped out of the caves, we were constantly expanding our circle of love to include more people. We now reject genocide, racism and incest, things common centuries ago. We're in a crucial point in our development. Becoming completely spiritual by rejecting all selfish instincts and materialism is the next step. Rejecting Jesus, which represents 100% love, as a role model, is a step back for our consciousness. The time has come to raise our consciousness to the next level. Wake up!

  • @dejesusluisx You do know that disbelief is not rejection? Atheists don't reject Jeshua the Anointed, they simply do not have any reason to believe that an eccentric Jewish preacher from 2000 years ago was the son of YHWH of the Elohim. I think you would like the ideas of the Cathars who where all about rejecting selfish instincts and materialism, and instead embracing the spiritual.

  • @greyman000 "I think you would like the ideas of the Cathars who where all about rejecting selfish instincts and materialism, and instead embracing the spiritual" both go hand in hand. We know better now.

  • @dejesusluisx Unfortunate the Christians killed all Cathars in a complete genocide called the Albigensian Chrusade. In several cities, every man, woman and child where burned alive, even though only some where Cathars, while others supported them, or only lived peacefully with them. The Inquisition where originally founded to track down and kill any surviving Cathars, though some where instead converted by force and had to where a yellow cross stitched on their cloths the rest of their lives.

  • @greyman000 "Unfortunate the Christians killed all Cathars in a complete genocide called the Albigensian Chrusade" Whatever their beliefs were, it never justified such an horrible act. The church is an institution lead by men and we are all flawed. In many instances organizations step upon the very principles for which they were created in order to preserve the organization. We see that everyday, even until this day. Is human nature, at least we have a goal to overcome it, imagine if we didn't.

  • There is a bit of truth here to the theists claim, the church used threats of hell and the relics of saints basically to keep early knights in line, otherwise they would have been looting and raping and pillaging with no qualms in the dark ages of Europe, it's frequently something touched upon if you study the dark ages and the early creation of relics. I still don't think it's worth crediting to religion, however. Something else would have provided the same effect.

  • So, the guy is saying that it's necessary for people to live in fear, in order for the existence of a just and moral society. Loon.

  • @MyChallengeChannel Coincidentally, the police believe that fear is a good thing as well. Speed limits are enforced by fear. Police are afraid of video cameras - there are numerous videos here that show the intimidation that police bring against people holding video cameras. Even if those people are not arrested, they are still intimidated, which leads to fear of the police.

  • Jeff appears to be just a floating face in this video. lol

  • Am I the only one that worries about these fundamentalists and their apparent lack of self control?

Since leaving my faith I haven't had a single urge to kill, hurt, lie, deceive, or rape anyone.

The mind is a powerful thing, when one is fully in control of it...

  • Every year around Christmas children behave better because they are told that this magical character is going to fly around the world on a magical sleigh with reindeer dropping off gifts to children based on their good behavior. that proves that people can behave based on a delusion.

  • Ed = not the sharpest tool in the shed

  • Huzzah for the FSM!

  • Wish this show aired here

  • @dredsdomain You can watch it online, check their website

  • Yeah. The dude on the left looks like an imp.

  • I am so glad I don't have to be exposed to these sorts of fundamentalist religious people, coming from New Zealand I can say that nobody here who professes a belief in god is taken seriously in just about anything, they are mocked.

  • Statistics for better morals could be seen in countries like Holland Sweden Denmark Norway, where the non believers are more than 50% and they have far less crime than countries full of believers.

  • @LouisPlume Correlation doesn't mean causation but by conducting more structured studies, that might be the case. I'm atheist, economist.. but sometimes a simply statistic doesn's tell me much.

  • @Jagonomic Im sure youre right about causation, but its just one interesting statistic. I actually think religion is at its weakest when you have a good social care and net for your citizens, I believe that is when religion is becomes weak in a liberal democracy, and this could also account for having a smaller criminal element. These statistics are also very similar.

We ado indeed wait better evidence...

  • @LouisPlume LOL bullshit. My girlfriend is Swedish, her whole family ( some of which also live in Norway ) are all Christian.

I lived in Sweden for about 3 months, just to visit. I've never met so many extreme Christians in my life.

They even sang a song before they ate food. And said "grace".

All of which is fucking retarded.

  • @locsaretheshit

A statistical blip of bad luck Im sure.

  • @LouisPlume we have like 10% belivers in demark..

  • @LouisPlume interestingly, the Vatican is the state with the highest crimerate in the world xD

Now I don't read much into this, cus the population is obviously verry low and there are alot of tourist attractions etc. but it's a fun little fact :)

  • Fear of hell, typical christian thinking, "fuzzy"

God will punish you for your sins by sending you to hell.

Next page, pray so your sins will be forgiven.

Do these people think ? or spend their time praying?

  • Secular counties like Norway, Sweden, Denmark all have less crime than America, which is a religious oriented country with many different religions...of course they all claim to be right, which ultimately means none of them are...those are statistics that can back up the benefits of not having religion rule over people's lives.

  • @JOHNINCOLUMBUS lol wow you sound just like me. You nailed it on the head, you just forgot canada. It's not only crime its literacy and disease rates which look much nicer on the least theocratic side.

  • There is a large segment of the population that will, forever, refuse to see the scam of religion, it's dark side and will defend it to the death. The countries I named have a more adult perspective on these philosophies and actually see them for what they are...the USA does not.

  • @dsmrider speaking as a Canadian, Canada is not a truly secular society (well, Quebec sorta is, but they're always doing their own thing), however Canada does seem to have a greater seperation between church and state (despite the fact that the US constitution supposedly guarantees it)

  • i hope they have ths show in montreal!

  • A fellow Montrealer, huh? What say we get on TV and make our own?

  • i'm juste 14 years old.

  • Well, dagnabbit.

  • It would've been funny if Matt just hung up on Ed immediately after accepting his apology.

  • I would have hung up after he said that 'fear of hell' was a benefit

  • @mavaddat HAHA! Man, that wouldve been so funny, instant classic if that had happened!
