Sorry, it will end automatically with the song "If" by Gary Pike. Thanks to you all. I owe you all.

  • My olderst sister, Nieva Yap, was a diehard Lettermen fan. She followed their concerts all around the USA and kept a big collection of Lettermen songs, from the Sixties' round records, tapes, betamax, VHS, diskettes, CD's. She died last April 2011 from cancer. I hope the Lettermen, who know her personally, and fans will pause for a while and say an Ave and a reverent prayer for her..... Sam Yap

  • @TheCentraloperation

And they are Americans. My wife understand the meaning of "Dahil Sa Iyo" because of their enunciation, truly Filipino.

  • @jundayo55

American who try to sounds Filipinos and Filipinos whose trying hard to sounds like foreigner with slang enunciation.

  • @MsGodhelpme

Nice of you to make them talk to you in long hours like what you've experienced. I don't imagined they will have a time like that to me, even I have posted the most viewed Lettermen posting in YouTube which is "Medley: Filipino Love Songs".

  • wonderful......................

  • @awaadecutie

    Sure

  • @awaadecutie

    ------and beautiful.

  • the letterman will always be a favorite in the Philippines! their music is constantly being played in the radio every now and then! i really, really love their rendition of SAPAGKAT KAMI AY TAO LAMANG!

  • @personalkoment

The Lettermen concert last Wednesday (July 28, 2010) shows how much the filipino audiences loves the Lettemen to the fullest. It's a successful show of The Lettermen and The Cascades, although there are out of tune voices that hampers the performance of The Cascades. But it's a good Nostalgia evening.

  • @jundayo55 How many people were at the Concert? Aloha from Waikoloa, HAWAII

  • Yep, THE LETTERMEN are one of my faves. I think they ought to be praised in learning how to sing our popular Filipino love songs. Mas mahusay pang mag-Tagalog kaysa sa akin. I always hear how nice to hear me talk in Filipino. To hear them sing in Filipino is just muy fabuloso. Also, I've met them in person, even hugged me, they were just the nicest to their fans. Thanks for the video of this legendary American group.

  • @Labtechbaby

Napag-aaralan namang lahat 'yan, labtechbaby. As a Filipina, siyempre it will be much easier for you to learn our own language. American could hardly express "Ikaw" in Tagalog, as it always sounds Ika, as The Lettermen sings it. Great of you to have a hugged of the group. Nice comment.

  • @jundayo55

Oh, wow, I see THE LETTERMEN are back performing in the Philippines. I know what you mean about the "ika" when the first time THE LETTERMEN sung Dahil Sa Iyo. I'm guessing they were just starting to learn Tagalog then. But now they are excellent with their rendition of "Ikaw" and said the word very well as you can hear in this particular video. Napag-aaralan nga ang Tagalog but I'm an Ilocana - either malambot ang dila o matigas! LOL!

  • They are amazing! I love they way they sing our own filipino songs!

  • @G2heLLGMA

    Cute, di ba?

  • so sad, and so very very few pinoy singers cant even sing the philippine national anthem right especially at every pacquiao fight

and always their stupid lame excuse is artistic expression

I'd say it is their swelling pus filled pride

  • @chichiboypumpi

    You are so so right!

  • @chichiboypumpi

Every singer can be artistic in an OA way, but not The Lettermen. Tingnan mo silang kumanta, halos 'di nga bumubuka ang bibig, pero bumibirit. And that is real artistry.

  • I sang dahil sa iyo with my father inlaw to a wedding couple.-)

  • @redpearce

    Great rendition I hope.

  • @redpearce

Congrats sa wedding couple, Lettermen version ba ang Dahil Sa Iyo mong binanatan, redpearce?

  • it's a shame that we still have to listen to foreigners to sing our local music to appreciate it while our local talents are making money out of singing foreign songs. wala nang magawang kanta nag remake na lang. sila pa naman sana ang mga pinagmamalaki natin na mga local talents. tsk tsk tsk...

  • @southernfog

Tama ka diyan, southernfog. While foreign entertainers are making our music proud, local talents are not doing the same. Try the Lettermen to sing our National Anthem and they will make it the most memorable rendition of all, believe me.

  • Great! Marvellous. If you want, look what musicians of Brazil and Argentina are doing with a accordion! Search in youtube for these videos:

Tio Mederico- Dvd Os Serranos 40 anos- Sempre Gaúchos

    Marcelo e Voninho

  • amazing!!!your all in....

  • @MrRonniebaton Yeah, Flash card with an ace!

  • grabe para talagang original na Pinoy singers! I love all their love songs circa 70's!

  • @magsinovicky So do I. We both love real fascinating music of the oldies.

  • lovely :)

  • omg!!! so good! so great!!! love it!!! thanks a lot for posting this...

  • You're welcome, justbliv. Para sa inyo talaga 'yan.

  • that was amazing!

  • Amazing as they sung like truly blooded Filipinos.

They really love Pinoys n vice versa . we love u 'The Lettermen" forever....more power...

  • awesome.. brilliant

  • Ang Gagaling ng Lettermen, ganda!

  • Magaling talaga. See them on July 27, 2010 at Araneta Coliseum.

  • I Loved it ..Awesome..

  • According to the Lettermen website, the group is scheduled to perform in the Philippines, July 27 thru Aug 1

  • It was earlier recorded as January 27, 2010. Na-postponed siguro kaya Beach Boys ang magco-concert sa date na ito.

  • @jundayo55

nothing beats watching/listening to them at a philippine venue. they genuinely love their audience and vice versa. many thanks for the video.

  • sarap!

  • Parang kare-kare.

  • excellent interpretatons of local filipino melodies, awesome blending of voices.danceable beats.

  • Fabulous interpretations needs fabulous singers like The Lettermen, time tested, a natural gem of music entertainment five decades and counting.

  • I just love listening to the Lettermen sing....especially when they're singing songs that really touch us in a personal way that makes my heart sing!!!!

    Mahalo! Salamat! Arigato! Gracias!

  • Thanks.xmove8. Enjoy singing with them with our OPM hits. Mahalo from the Philippines.

  • isnt it amazing to hear foreigners singing our hit songs for a change?/what a wonderful melody by the lettermen.they never lost that magic in their voices over the years!

  • They never lost the voices that made them a hit 50 years ago, a total gem of wonderful melodies only them can render...the OPM hits.

  • god this video made me cry...i remember my father who died 21 years ago and he used to sing some of the songs especially the song dahil tao lamang to my mother, wow its moving!!!!

  • Memories are made by the departure of someone meaningful to you especially if you still remember the song that made them live forever in your hearts. Mabuhay ka!

  • i really, really love this one! my sunday is not complete without listening to any of your lettermen youtube collection. it made my day!

  • Thanks you have found a treasure in my vault of music. I've got a lot of requests these days and I'm working on it.

  • They took special rigid filipino language course because they were requested by a very important, powerful political leader. I appreciate their patience, and talent, too!

  • And their dedication to excel.

  • They took a special rigid filipino language because they are requested by a very important political leader that time. I appreciate their patience and talent, too! I like them.

  • ty Rod...this surely reminds me of our beerkadahan, and our melancoholic voices in wee hours of the night plus the angry applause of our neighbors shouting...more...more.p*%x$ nyo.wish i can still play those in my guitar..fyi...it's my bday 01/27..i'll be in PI... so see you guys

  • We've got the same style in high school, we often jammed with gusto in our place and at the wee hour of the morning, my father will go out to tell us ; "Kung ayaw n'yong matulog, magpatulog kayo." Hahaha. Nakakabwisit pala mga boses namin.

  • amazingly beautiful..i remember my dad

  • wow..those olden days, they came here in the philippines to make this album filipino songs,1975 about that time,i was in grade 5..now they came back to sing those songs again..great voicing

  • And they will be back again on January 27, 2010. hope you'll be there too.

  • jundayo55,

Thanks for sharing this. I did not know until now that it is in youtube. I bought all four songs in iTunes when someone told me about them, and I play them regularly. Very wonderful classic Lettermen melody of the four classic Tagalog songs.

  • Now you will enjoy it more with The Lettermen performing it live with the Filipino people.

  • The title of the first song is Hindi kita malimot. I cannot forget you.

  • especially like ikaw but what does it mean?any full version of this song?

  • "Ikaw" means "You". It's the real full version of the song, just combined all the Lettermen OPM to be in one dimensional song.

  • thk's very nice song ikaw pity alittle too short..........

  • That's how short Filipino Love Songs are before, but meaningful and lovely.

  • what's the title of this song??

  • Introductory song: DAHIL SA IYO, followed by "Hindi Kita Malimot", "Sapagkat Kami Ay Tao Lamang" and "Ikaw". Hope you like it.

  • HINDI KITA MALIMOT is the title meaning I cannot forget you

  • The greatest ever.
