1. US Congress pass sanction on Iran. Promoted by pro-Israel groups in US.
2. Europe follow suit eventhough it destroys countries like Greece, Italy, Spain & Portugal which already in economic hardships & now oil imports from Iran are banned. Prices of goods & services will go up.
I've been to grammar, private and state schools - and for people who don't have a high income grammar schools is the biggest hope they have for their children (i left it in 2010 - and my experience in it tells me we need more, not less!)
I like Nigel Farage, but I do not like UK supporting Israel in this warmongering against Iran. Iran has shown no aggression and this warmongering will only get White Nations bombing the shit out of each other once more. I'd rather see a mushroom cloud in any city than 100 million dead in a WW3.
I do not even care if they are developing nuclear weapons. You cannot judge a man to death or prison from owning a knife as a preemptive strike because a handful of people believe that he might use it.
@ASDKAODJAKSJ He's not anti-Israel at all. His ideas are more pro-Israel than anyone else's. Then again, it doesn't matter, because HE DOESN'T LIVE THERE. AMERICAN presidents should worry about the United States of AMERICA, just like BRITISH politicians are to worry about BRITISH affairs.
The USA is Israels main ally and Israel being the only democracy in the arab world is the last frontier against islam. If Israels falls, Europe will fall too.
Ron Pauls policies do not support Israel anymore.
He also thinks that 9/11 was Americas fault, what do you think about all this?
@ASDKAODJAKSJ Your profile says you're from Germany (which is awesome, I love Germans), but how would you feel if a country like Turkey occupied your home? Or if you saw Russian or even American soldiers walking down YOUR GERMAN streets? Do they have the right to be there? Or to tell you what to do? Shouldn't something be done about that? After all, what happens in Germany is not the business of any other country. The US did invite 9/11 (if it wasn't an inside job. Not totally sure). It's called
@ASDKAODJAKSJ -blowback. Every action has a reaction. That's not just science, either.
And actually, a large part of Israel's population is Muslim anyway. They're off in the Middle East. I don't see how their fall has anything to do with Europe's. You guys just need to drop the EU, political correctness, and multiculturalism, and have real immigration policies. Also acknowledge that Islam is political, not just religious. Tell people to integrate or leave. Israel's irrelevant.
@ASDKAODJAKSJ Your mad mate, how can you say "Islam" is a threat to the west, if anything, the past decade has shown the exact opposite. We're bombing them, polluting their countryside with toxic DU or Enriched Uranium shells (birth defects in Iraq are massive after the war), wait for Libya/Afghanistan next. It's just sheer monkey business this warmongering Bullshit. Question to be asked is, what year are we living in 2011 with history at our fingertips, or 1100CE in conquer mode still
@ASDKAODJAKSJ He is actually pro Israel as he wants them to regain their sovereignty. At the moment, they can't do anything without the US's permission. Not only that but they are more than capable of defending themselves.
Selective education is good, as long as young children at the age of 11 arn´t put onto a certain path they cannot get off. Some children are late developers, and need the opportunity when the are older to also get better education.
What I don't understand about every prime minister or party leader is that if they were all privately educated; what on earth do they know about the goings on in our community high schools? I agree with this guy though; too many kids especially nowadays are scared of getting their hands dirty, they need to teach trades in schools and not focus so much on the academic side of things; understanding basic electrics or woodwork is much more important in life than who are kings and queens were.
I am profoundly gifted and would throw it all away for the opportunity to kill my teachers and whoever invented public schools funded by the government with my bare hands.
If that doesn't mark the ending of civilization I don't know what does.
Profoundly gifted is the polite way of saying an extremely high IQ. My point was that even though I have a high capacity my aggravation towards the public schooling system is so high not even I can stay civilized.
Not sure what to say to that, speaking as a person who never got into a Grammer School and have a brother who did, i can tell you Grammer schools are full of privately educated children, it does not give poor families a chance as much of it is based on who can put the most money into their child's education at an early age and even then those that are privately educated typically get better 11+ results and this are cherry picked more readily.
Here in Texas our children are required to go to elementary school through the 5th grade, then it is on to middle school/jr. high and finally high school. Obviously there are quality differences in our schools, but it seems that a UK “grammar” school is a fundamentally different type of school. How so?
@TheNova1960 they are both completley different. one belives in running their country on laws from the bible, the other one belives in welfare and free health care and the other one dont.
ron paul=no welfare,no free healthcare and laws from the bible, all complete opposite to farage.
@TheNova1960 Ron Paul is planning on defunding and closing the department of education. You should at least inform yourself about those you are voting for.
@Tr1pTr0p I am informed and he wants to get rid of a lot of other departments in government that are usless and make the cost of doing business go up! Americans are not socialist we prefer a free market even in education! RP 2012
@TheNova1960 Business does NOT belong in health care or education.
Germany has one of the "biggest governments" in the world, yet it is pretty much the only country in Europe with positive economic growth at the moment. In addition to that, they have free health care, and free education for all.
Your bought politicians already gave billions in tax cuts to the rich and their businesses, and where did it get you? Nowhere. The rich got richer, and you got poorer. Nice fucking job! *clap* *clap*
No we dont have "free" Healthcare! The government forces us to pay at leat 15.5% from our income to the insurance companies!
'There is no such thing as a free lunch' - Someone has to pay for the schools and universities - In germany only the tax payer....that means a worker pays with his taxes for a student in the university!
@Tr1pTr0p I don't need my government sucking the life out of what I earn every year! Nothing is for free the tax payers pick up the tab and it is unfair! I lived in a Socialist country and I couldn't believe how much the government took out of my wages...insane! It's cheaper to buy my own health insurance and to pay for my own education! Check out Sweden....they pay 70% taxes out of their wages! And, I have a German friend who left Germany because he was taxed to death!
@Tr1pTr0p The department of education is to education as the patriot act is to patriotism. You should at least inform yourself about what it is you are attributing things to.
@m4dmike This probably is the case but it is not the reason I support Grammer schools. I want education to be tailored to the needs of the child, not tailored to the wealth of the child's parents.
@bmofano I cant see why a child who is more clever than a rich child should be provided with worse level of education. Also, is it really ethical to say that we are going to leave the bright children in comprehensive schools because we are more interested in keeping those schools from falling in standards than training the most intelleigent children to become the best that they can be, while simultaneously promoting equality of affluence class?
@bmofano it would not matter though because students capable of achieving would no be at the comprehensive schools and comp schools should cater more vocationally for those not clever enough to achieve academically anyway
@scottstacey1501 i dissagree with this then, if it means your handed a learning cap at age 11, on whether or not your going to be a sucsess, or mearly a mechanic or even hurt future job propects for not getting into the right school this seems absolutly wrong. Why not cut out half the curriculum?and have more focussed learning?those who want to do really well at all subjects can do so, those who want to be an excellent mechanic are also free to do so with lessons focussed around said job roles
@bmofano there could be entrance exams every year not just at eleven there could also be certain types of selective schools for example some for those talented at drama or sport or art. Doing more vocational subjects at comp schools would improve job prospects rather than letting almost everyone in the country go to university. I know myself from being a student at a comp school that the curriculum needs to be modified hugely and there are many people there who hinder talented people
@scottstacey1501 i suppose but the thing is if you have yearly tests or whatever after they already done a year or two at comp, no kids are going to want to leave there schools (friends) to go and start again at a grammer school, thts even worse for kids....they need structure, not moving around on a yearly basis, i think alot more could be done by compleatly rewriting the curriculum and leaving out more than half of it.but hey we can vote over this in the peoples democracy we will have! :D
Totally agree. It seems these days that people are not rewarded for hard work, rather the lazy or bad people just get everything handed to them and our brightest must pretend to be dumb or drag themselves down just to please the stupid.
@TheLEEFINNIGAN It's not really fair to make such a broad generalisation. Also you might want to look up how intelligence works, the truth is there are very few bright and dumb people. Most people are the same when it comes to intelligence, it mainly depends on their environment in which their mind is trained. That being said the needs of the main not the needs of a few. Also how the hell can you call a eleven year old a bad person! Surely it would be the parents.
@NGE0001 I was speaking about society in general, i think we need more stuff like grammar schools to put that perception out there that working hard and being good actually gets you somewhere.
@TheLEEFINNIGAN General about 62 million people. Grammar school get more money per head than their comprehensive counterparts. The money for schools comes from the same bucket. Grammar schools also take far less children than comprehensives, so the more grammar schools, bigger class sizes in comprehensives, which would create an educational divided. You can't give a small part of the UK opportunities over the expense of the majority, as you would be using the majority's money to do so.
@NGE0001 Well a gap exists now with private education and if your worried about only a small amount going to grammar schools let's have more grammar schools then.
@TheLEEFINNIGAN With respect private education was the first and once only form of education. It is and will always be that those that can afford the best will get the best. But not all private schools get the best result, sure the very top do but their are many comprehensives that are better than them. I think you might have missed the point in the last part of my last comment. This is a public education issue, not private, You can't make the majority pay for minority.
@TheLEEFINNIGAN You'd be stopping the majority from reaching their potential.Public spending is for all & equal. Would it even work as an incentive? You are talking about 11 year old's. One of the reason it was stop was because it's unfair as child's brains develop at a different rates. Meaning it's not all down to intellect and hard work. Note why girls had far more success with the test. I voted UKIP but this is one policy I do not agree with. Things usually change because they don't work.

100% correct ... can't be fast enough.
I passed my 11+ & went to
a) in Co. Durham , a Comprehensive .. due to no Grammar schools in the area
b) then in Wiltshire, a Grammar school
c) then i n Hampshire, a Grammar school that "turned" comprehensive while I was still there.
Nigel is 100% correct ... and the Labour Party basically destroyed the best education system the UK ever had - period !
I will vote UKIP if I ever come back to the UK.
