The most tragic part about this situation is that they still don't have a school. This speech was made in 2008, and once again the government has stated that they should have a school by 2014. I am beginning to wonder if their voices will ever be heard.
It is very sad to hear about a young, beautiful girl losing her life very tragically and suddenly...my heart goes out to her family & friends... a very strong young anishnawbe-kwe, to stand up and fight for the rights of the young children in her community, fighting for educational rights and a better school system... there should be more young people like her, strong-willed, determined and never backing down!! Shannen's dream can come true, if we all stand together and fight her fight...R.I.P.
I miss you so dearly. I will for sure carry on your torch, and hold it high. You are my biggest inspiration. I love you Shannen. You were the a great friend and cousins. Until we meet again, fly high..<3
shannen thank you for your voice. i hope we ( i ) have the courage to speak against injustice like you did. and you were so many years younger than me
Shannen, you represent the children whose voices cannot be heard! I am so proud to hear that you have been nominated for UN Children's Peace Award!!! Keep fighting for what's in your heart, for the right thing to do for the CHILDREN, YOU ARE AND SHOULD BE AN ROLE MODEL FOR THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA & THEIR REPS!!
