not true... Gohan's potential is far greater than that of Goku as can be seen during the Cell saga. The only reason Goku was able to go SSJ3 was because he trained real hard in other world... And Gohan was far stronger than a SSJ 3 after he reached the Mystic Saiyan state after his time with Elder Kai...

Also, Goten and Trunks indirectly go SSJ 3 through Gotenks... If Gotenks can go SSJ 3 it is safe to assume that both Trunks and Goten can go SSJ 3 as well...

there's definitely no reason to assume that. SS transformations require a certain amount of strength. There is some wiggle room though. If you knew exactly how to do it(say, by having done it in a fusion) you could probably do it a lot earlier. Given their performance against 18, I'd say they have the strength, but their young bodies probably can't really handle it.

@Foulknercloud You are right man. It's seems that everything Cell and afterwards became Saiyan Ball Z. I don't understand how they became Super Saiyans at such a young age without proper training. I don't buy the excuse that their fathers were Super Saiyan when they had relations with their mothers. It doesn't make sense. If I go to the gym and become buff all of a sudden, then decide to have a kid, my kid isn't going to be buff. Same rule applies here. *sigh*. Anyways thanks for watching! :)

Well what about Gohan? He didn't even train for the first 4 years of his life and he was still a super saiyan by the time he was 9. Goten at least got some training with Gohan and Trunks with Vegeta.

@Friecelbu We don't really know that for sure. It never says anything about training with Gohan, it only shows it seven years later. Also, Gohan spent most of the seven years going to school so I doubt he had time to train with Goten or even train himself since the Earth was at peace. Vegeta and his father both notice his power drop a little bit in the Buu Saga. As far as training with Trunks and Vegeta goes, we don't know that either. It never says or shows anything about that.

@Android17Marketplace The simplest explanation is that they needed to be Super Sayian for the sake of the story. You couldn't really have them be super weak based on the base Power Levels of other Sayians at the time.

There's also other characters like Tien and piccolo who trained really hard but were left out just because the little super saiyans showed up. Powerlevels aren't a spoken about after the Frieza saga, and also I thought Androids and Cyborgs don't show proper powerlevels... 18, being a Cyborg at the moment, probably has a powerlevel less than 10, but her Cybernetics is what gives her the kind of power you claim she has in your comment... Although she does seem to train and it's possible that she's a strong human fighter like Chi Chi, but the cybernetics do a lot for her...
