The second you have a criminal record, it becomes difficult to get a decent paying job, It's not creating jobs, it's going to cause an over inflated jail systems busting at the seams causing more danger to the jail guards because they can no longer control the inmates. Fact: Prohibition causes more drug problems then solves.

@Talvrae Legalizing it takes care of that problem. Get rid of the black market and you help that problem not limit it. Second, it may be more potent, but it also takes less to get you high. These are facts: More people die every year from RCMP drug raids then do from Pot use. Our job rate in Canada is better then any other country in this world. And Pot has many many uses including fuel, it could feed our poor with hemp seeds very well, better clothing, paper, medication, housing, textiles. and oil. It can help with MS, arthritis, anxiety, depression, eating, and numerous other things.
and that is not an excuse for it. We have given millions of reasons why it will help this world including saving our forests that we as people are ALL worried about. And yet, it's not legalized. And again, Pot is not the debate. The debate is how is Harper doing in power? It's not that marijuana is dangerous, because that's complete bullcrap. The reason why it's still illegal is because it's already in such large circulation, that the government wouldn't benefit from it because they won't be able to tax it. Everyone will be able to buy it from a 3rd party source, unlike tobacco, which can only (easily) be bought from 1st party sources, which are all taxed by the government. @Talvrae No, If we we're smart then all drug fighting money would be spent on rehab centers since jail systems don't help. They have more drugs in jails then out. The second you have a criminal record, it becomes difficult to get a decent paying job, It's not creating jobs, it's going to cause an over inflated jail systems busting at the seams causing more danger to the jail guards because they can no longer control the inmates. Fact: Prohibition causes more drug problems then solves.

It's not that marijuana is dangerous, because that's complete bullcrap. The reason why it's still illegal is because it's already in such large circulation, that the government wouldn't benefit from it because they won't be able to tax it. Everyone will be able to buy it from a 3rd party source, unlike tobacco, which can only (easily) be bought from 1st party sources, which are all taxed by the government. So that they can encourage youngsters not to buy weed, they started feeding us bullcrap.

What would it take for people to come up higher? Why is it that we cannot get our point across without slandering and demeaning each other? Why is it that we cannot give credit where credit is due? Our PM sang very well and this was very gutsy of him. Canada has ranked 4th place in the list of countries that are the best to live in. Maybe we could have been first if our PM was given a majority?? He has done good inspite of all the opposing parties. Let's give him a majority............

I am commited to a cause. It is protecting the rights and freedoms of Canadian citizens. It is exposing government corruption that removes those rights and is reponsible for the deaths (murders) of hundreds of Canadian citizens every year. And I will add that dadeyis1 should learn what Fascism is before he makes comments. Fascism is a coalition of Business and State that denies the rights and freedoms of citizens, just like the situation we have in Canada.

No Fascist sir. Fascism removes the rights of cetain groups of people. That is what Canada and the Provinces have done. The NDP in particular because they ar always talkng about protecting workers (citizens) rights and the rihts of the family. But what have they actally allowed to happen ad take an active part in?removung the rights of citizens and allowed corporate Canada to abuse, torture, and torment disabled citizens untilthey commit suicide.
