The only two people that should sing this amazing song besides the original artist are Kelly and Josh K. That crybaby Stacy Francis needs to get off that show asap, she is not at the same level as the finalists in that show, her sob story got her into the finals. My desire is for her to record an album full of material that best reflects her versatility to include Up to the Mountain. This is an amazing song just to listen too outside on your smartphone with earphones on. In the ol' rockin chair on the porch with the sun beams hitting you wide open on the face, it truely is a religious experience for me.

unfortunately crossing genres and being a multi-task genre artist is sooooooooooooooooo underated to date. There is not enough respect for people or a person like kelly for doing such in the music business. Crossing genres or being a multi-task generated artist would be the only thing I could tell someone to do to gain more respect musically, its just so unfortunate that FEW in the business can do this.

Kelly voice is amazing!! She has demonstrated time and again her versatility to cross genres of music. My desire is for her to record an album full of material that best reflects her versatility to include Up to the Mountain. Her talent remind me a lot of Eva Cassidy, who was another artist capable of performing all genres. Great job, Kelly!

@jcacka18 It's about MLK and his "Up to the Mountain" speech, yes, but Patty didn't write it WHEN he was shot. The song only came out four years ago--first on Solomon Burke's "Nashville," then on Patty's "Children Running Through" in 2007.
