@negerauto123 yes, any sub can blow with enough power, or when its under enough strain. but these subs are built like tanks, so they're pretty hard to blow.

look people can debate this crap for years, in my 20 something yrs in car and home audio , ive seen thousands of vehicles that are LOUD, and Good sq also , but what some fail to realize is the fact that there are a few of us old school spl nuts out there that take the time to totally strip the interior of said vehicle and use deadening material in places you wouldnt normally use, its called noise reduction acoustic vibration cancelation, which equals high spl end of subject

the DDz can only take the 30k for short burps. There is no subwoofer in the world that can take that much power for long periods of time, or on music.

@45123 well when i get 4 9518's in my truck and beat steve meade in a bass wars comp everyone would prolly hop off his dick and see his shit is a joke, its built only for show. when me and my best friend build shit, its for go. i wouldn't need no more then about 12,000 watts to do it. unlike most beginners on here i would build my shit w/ interchangeable ports one for ground pounding bass and a mid 40's for bass wars, tighter bass puts more output on music.

@pulsecaraudio1 I'm planning on walling up 4 dd 3518's on about 12,800 watts, unlike most people i will have an interchangeable port in my box. 33hz for daily, 55hz for bass wars and a 80 for burping. When my homey clyde gets everything on his program to build the box the system that will stomp steve meade's ass will begin.my first trip will be to sacramento, ca to show him up then everyone else that thinks they have the shit and embarrass them w/ a lot less power, knowledge wins overall.

@raglanBoz this sub would rape anything FI makes. it is VERY underpowered. a FI sub can only take 2000 watts RMS. this DDZ 18 can take double maybe triple that power.

@Xlay16 30k rms on a burp, not on music. the BTL can handle 5k on music depending on multiple variables. But the DDZ has a much higher tolerance to heat and such is why it can burp on 30k.

It's not made for it. The narrow gap for the coil is made for SPL not music. The gap is made so small to make it stronger and take the power it was designed for. Do you know who Alan Dante is?

If we carry DD and install a Z18, yes, we also know about Alan Dante. :) Trust me, a Z woofer is a great daily driver in the right setup. Ofcourse, it's a SPL beast, but all that motor strength, the narrow gap (great efficiency) and the great cone control that come with that, all those thing make a great musical woofer as well. You have to try it to see what I mean. :) That's the magic of the Z. It's a great speaker, and a great speaker can do anything in the right setup.

Okay just making sure, be careful with it though, the slightest coil wobble will cause failure. Alan Dante says the Z sounds terrible on music as it is recommended to be SPL only.
