The second piece sounds like a turbulent lullaby... i fell in love wit it... i had such a terrible day and this performance here jus made my stress defuse and disarm... pure art is all i can say.
So rare to see such brilliant technical ability combined with full heart...total emotion. Women seem to handle stress better than most men in many things. Lim seems to have this in spades as she can play the most difficult passages at tornado speed with a calm, serene face and even a slight grin! Women also seem to be able to center on things a bit better than most men. As "letthemusicflow1' stated below, "dominating'. Women know how to dominate. Especially if they have 'that' type personality.
Women were always dominating on the piano but often weren't given the chances for a professional life in music. (in comparison to what men had that is). That is not to say that women who dominated on the keyboard were not around, they were. In fact, Beethoven had a student (a 20 year old girl) who he stated was a better pianist than himself!
Women have awesome attributes, physical & mental. They've speed, reflexes, focus, coordination, control, agressiveness & grace that men just don't have.
@LetTheMusicFlow1 specially playing Rachmaninoff that used to be decades ago considered unsuitable for women due to the big hands needed to play him, but they prove them wrong and we can enjoy their performances.
@LetTheMusicFlow1 Lim, Lisitsa and Yuja Wang are the most brilliant young queens of the piano. I would put Argerich and De Larrocha in the "queens of the past" list.
Amazing how she plays all Rachmaninoff, the second one etude is my favorite one. How she plays, It makes me cry, usually when i dream ,sitting Alone listening to her....it takes me to another world and remind me of the Good old days.thanks for having the chance to listen to it after so much time.
the truth is that Valentina Lisitsa brought me here! But that girl is truly amazing too!

I really love her intepretation of the first part.....she "plays" a lot with the notes and plays it in her own tempo.

Women are pretty dominating on the piano these days (Lim, Lisitsa, Argerich, de Larrocha)

Women are beautiful when playing piano, so graceful, I prefer watching a woman playing rather than watching a man =)

@LetTheMusicFlow1 Specially since Rachmaninoff pieces demand bigger than average hands...or so people used to say.
